That's so boring, having thousands and thousands of currency and building OP characters with legacy gear.

but thats the same thing a league is. if i play a league i can spend a stack or 2 of chaos on gear and by day 2 or 3 have a character that can easymode t16 maps and then its just profit, its just stackings 10s and then 100s of divines. if i put any effort in i stop needing anything within a couple of days and all im doing is stacking excessive wealth and items for the sheer gratuitous greed of it all.

there might be an overtuned league mechanic that just randomly 1 shots your character which ultimately means nothing in softcore and makes playing hardcore pointless, which will be tuned a week or 2 in. but against the core content of the game you can farm enough currency in 2 or 3 hours of white tier mapping to absolutely destroy t16 maps in pretty much the same way you will on standard and then you will use all the excess money you are making to buy stupid tier items which are then the same ones you take back to standard.

legacy items, where do you think i got 95% of them? in leagues.

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
Grind fest is out of control. My life is ruthless enough. SC is the only way with this balance.

If it wasn't for softcore trade this game would be dead and nobody would be playing it. People can tell me all the stories they want about how awesome HCSSF is and how the game is cake. And I'm gonna let them. Because they had to invent a new mode of play that's punishing for no reason so they can continue to enjoy a game they've already beat but refuse to move on from.

Good if you don't wanna work for the items then it's pointless there's no incentive. You wonder why every single thing previous league had no value because EVERYONE had everything nothing of value no dophomine.

Now you're back to reality.

It's good.

I posit a counterargument: With the market for everything having been as grossly oversaturated as it was last league, the value for everything was extremely low, enabling more builds for poor players.

Think about it. Ignoring stupid OP chase uniques like Headhunter and Mageblood, some items such as Ashes of the Stars had a much more achievable price tag for a lot of people who didn't have divines doled out to them hand over fist.

Did it screw over players farming said items for profit? Sure, but that's only looking at one group of people who are already rich and powerful enough to do this while ignoring those who can't.

That being said, I deliberately went out of my way to avoid Affliction juicing, because I knew that was going to spoil me and warp my perception of the game going forward. I may have been poor back in Affliction, but it's left me more grounded for Necropolis. That makes this league feel more normal to me, minus how overpowered some monster packs have gotten with the lantern mods.

Controversial opinion: I wish GGG made future leagues less rewarding in order to prevent complaint threads about why the game feels worse, or why some items are grossly overpriced compared to before. Alternatively, they go the opposite direction and make everything super rewarding so players can have more freedom on what builds they can afford to run.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Play better and learn to play from the others. Watch streamers, trade more (flip-flip, even price fix if you can afford it) and you will succeed. Basically you're complaining about the game is not so ultra easy baby lootfest as it was in 3.23. Thanks GGG, they finally fixed that trash.

ill translate - use 20 something skills (I am feeling generous today) and few ways to piece together all the necessary adequate enough defenses that have been tested to still work

rest of game, read: hundred other skills and the straightforward to acquire defenses, equals noobtrap

when ggg breaks another skill or gates behind an uber boss another defense - still go to even diminishing list of what ggg still didnt get around to carpet nerf

also while doing this have the pleasure to compete with everyone for the same gear on the fucked up trade

OR surrender to rot in yellow maps or some shit as thats precisely where ggg is constantly trying to put the average post campaign players with their balancing style

the OP is not wrong that this game in its entirety is designed specifically for 1% and those who imitate them

ggg designing all the new/interesting/op mechanics and then putting them behind ubers bosses is clear proof to anyone not in denial

what was rolled out as extra challenge for those who are bored is now mandatory if you want to play with the new toys

and it boggles my mind how so many people expect so many others to be happy sitting in yellow map playing with same uniques for years

until the extra challenge content is just that - just the extra challenge with no exclusive loot tables this type of complaint is not going away
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.

What OP is suggesting is the opposite of fun. This has been the best league hands down. I usually play my main on Standard. I rather have a side character to do the challenges in Challenge League. But this time, I decided to setup my main character in CL. So far, the content here has made the game considerably better. I encourage at least the crafting be implemented into the main game. The best part is the lantern that actually improves enemies. Something like this or something that can offer any improvement to enemies would be amazing.

Also, 1% isn't accurate. The game is only played by 10% of potential users. 90% of users who want to play and enjoy a quality arpg uninstall PoE. Despite having great inherent design. Progression is just so watered down, it's not worth playing for most.

You're doing something entirely wrong if you think t17 are the only way to make profit. The entire atlas change enabled so many new farming methods without having to invest into anything, but you're so heavily focused on t17 maps "being the only deal" to actually realize and appreciate the work they've put into the new atlas to make your life easier by a lot.
But I get it, you don't get 15+d in every t7 map, a mb week one, and endgame gear week one, so league bad even with currency having some value again and normal items being back to normal prices ;(
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
