5 second timer is ideal. hell 3 seconds would prevent thousands of people
an hour from leaving maps for no trade at all. I find that most of my trades offers are reasonable, most people already wait for 5 seconds or so before trying the next offer. but those that do not cause disproportionate hardship. thats why there needs to be rules. I wont even open my stash until you are in my h/o. I have long since stopped picking up the item ahead of time (and having to inevitably replace and reprice it) anyone else think its fair to call every pizza joint in the city and pay the first one that delivers? |

" What an incredibly false analogy... 1) You typically PREpay for the pizza, plus the buyer has EVERY reason in the world to believe that once you connect you are "locked in". 2) PoE meanwhile is the exact opposite scenario of ordering a pizza: you have no idea if the pizza place even exists in the first place, you have had no real conversation about said pizza, you have not prepaid, and you have no "receipt" of sale. Is it fair to call and order pizza, but only have a 10% chance of actually GETTING that pizza? "Disproportionate hardship"....you must be joking. As the seller you have ALL THE POWER. It is almost impossible for the buyer to do anything disproportionate to what the seller can do. As the seller you get to choose when and how you exit whatever map you are in for the trade. If you are choosing to leave the map before a party is formed....then that's on you, not the buyer. It is just as easy to wait a few seconds (ha, look at that....SAME ask) for the party to form before portaling out. Across the thousands of hours I have played this game and regularly traded on both sides of the aisle: once a party is formed it is 99.99% likely the trade is going to happen regardless of how much time it takes the seller to leave the map. I've run out of scrolls and had to spend 2-3 minutes running to find one or a wp to get back to my hideout, and the buyer waits every time...because I TELL them I'm on my way and we already formed the party. The only time it becomes a pain is if the guy wants to negotiate and I'm in no mood, but even then I don't get upset with THEM as the buyer, I just don't accept the trade. trade system in this game is what it is - friction crucible. both sides dont like it, both sides frequently swap places (buyers sell from time to time and vice versa). this is what human interactions are between strangers, this is what a system DESIGNED to be unfun turns people into
there is also the game design itself - most maps players simply CANNOT leave because they will break there ramp-up: HH stacks, rage, tempo OR simply loose the content - monolith, breach, abyss etc - you leave, you forefit entire thing trading between maps is pretty much the only way and for that you have to install 3rd party tool (that i hate doing) to keep track of names (that are different between toon name and account name creating unnecessary confusion layer) and items. it simply sucks the trade experience sucks the joy from me. i almost permanently run with /dnd because i do not want to bother with slimy beggers (could you do 20div on a 70 div item plz sir), people who change trade wispers, people who take 1min to load because of their OWN mtx (i do not use any) etc. just let me kill some mobs. and if you pre-invite me just to 'hurry me up' when i fight 570+ deepth Aul and almost die - block, good riddance. AH has lots of flaws but at least i do not have to deal with human contact in a single player game |

If you are annoyed by people cancelling on your invite-requests then this only states that you are selling items on the market that do not have a reasonable value. The only time this happens is for low-level stuff for twinks or just some generic 1-5c trades. Help yourself and set the minimum value you sell items for at 10, 20, 30, 50 chaos or whatever - the higher you go the less likely it is that a trade wont go through.
This late in the league my lowest active trade panel is 1 div. Have not been cancelled on in the past 2 weeks. |

If you're being spammed for an item then your price is too low and it's triggering all the bots to message you for an item they can flip for profit
That's all. If anything, your complaint is that bots exist Last edited by bgyoshi#1954 on Jan 30, 2024, 12:14:45 PM

uh-oh....
looks like somebody hasn't played with the live searching feature on the trade page. Don't have to be a bot to use it. I'm using it right now. Last edited by RightHandofGod#6548 on Jan 30, 2024, 1:54:04 PM

" [Removed by Support] Sure...you don't have to be a bot, but that doesn't mean there AREN'T hundreds of bots for every one of YOU doing exactly what you are doing. [Removed by Support] Oh and btw, with your "suggestion" guess what would end? Live searches. You'd never be able to use it again because someone would ALWAYS beat you to it and you would be perpetually waiting behind that "5 second timer" YOU wanted. " I understand you wanting to rant... I really do. But the world's evil is not bots. You also don't understand the concept of spam. Its not hitting me 20 times... Its hitting 20 people once. Somebody already mentioned throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks. (good analogy) You must have missed that part. as far as a 5 second timer, it would not affect the live search feature as it doesn't spam for you. It simply brings up a trade request as soon as it is possible. YOU the user still have to initiate the request. I would recommend that you heeded your own advice and prepare before posting.... With all of that said... most modern item based games have a Auction House and not this strange web based trading system and I stand behind my suggestion that GGG get on board with this. |
