Ruthless is way better than bloated normal game, but PLEASE make Ruthless fun to play

" I don't know everything about it - and have never claimed that. The only thing I know, is that Ruthless drop rates/scarcity of items is way too low for me - I value my time. So instead of forcing myself to play it, KNOWING that the scarcity is severe, and then make a thread about it being "too low" even though you knew it beforehand, I'll just rather stick to a league more suited to me. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Anyway for a middle ground I think private league if updated could work.
You could have options like disable gem from vendor, Ruthless loot table or Ruthless scarcity. If you add all the thing that make Ruthless what it is, anyone would be able to make their perfect gamemode. Why am I still here Last edited by Warvald#4362 on Jan 28, 2024, 8:35:39 PM

" You completely missed the point of the topic starter. Did you try to finish Act 10 with 1-2 link? Or having almost zero phys defence while your ele defence are very good? Or having 20k azurite price for some not very powerful fossils? Or just zero map drop on your maps when you're supposed to run maps, back to acts? He pointed that item scarcity is not well balanced around some concept. Some of nerfs are WAAAAAAY more challenging than you can expect. But for some reason each time non-ruthless player comes to the topic and tells the stories about how Ruthless should look like and it is okay because it's supposed to be like that. You basically excuse the developer not having enough time to properly adjust things making the balance more consistent. You can't have a single support gem for your skill - Yeah, it's ruthless Determination / Grace doesn't have flat component - Yeah, it's ruthless No maps - Yeah, it's ruthless Expensive fossils - It's ruthless bruh The game crashes - Sure, it's ruthless Always the same story. I am who actually playing this mode (HC one). ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Jan 29, 2024, 3:31:27 AM

" Only the cool hc ruthless kids are allowed to give feedback and comments about this failure mode aka PoE2 alpha concept testing hoho But I agree with you people willingly signed up for a mode with less loot and player power, so they shouldn't complain about not getting everything shoved up their face for free. GGG clearly stated that with the announcement of the mode and it isn't even really a balance issue at this point especially lot's of players have already destroyed the mode during the closed alpha while everything was already in a much harder state. Nothing else but people wanting to play a "harder" mode but have it easier at the same time hoho Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. "Ruthless is great, here are some suggestions that will take all the ruthless away"
This is no different from those HC players who use a logout macro. Last edited by bauermayers#4660 on Jan 29, 2024, 2:37:09 PM

I think rather than make ruthless more enjoyable for the op why not instead bring the base game back a non-cluster state.
They could do it many ways but one of the ways I'd like to see is what they did with metamorph and ultimatum or scourge and beyond merge some of the league mechanics into one. They could just spend the next few leagues merging old league mechanics into instead of being 20 or w/e different types of content into like 5 or 6. I mean some of them can't be merged easily but other like betrayal and anarchy aka rouge exiles could more easily be merged. |

" If you skip to around the 26 minute mark in the below video, Jonathan Rogers agrees with you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79kgVK3XGuk That was actually reassuring to hear, because I too had the same experience as you had. Loved the idea of Ruthless and less item drops, but they simply took it too far. What I experienced was lack to actual content, and extreme map scarcity blocking progression. Going through the campaign on a 1-link was interesting to say the least, but after hours of not really getting anything done in maps, I eventually gave up on Ruthless. If they alter the balance a bit better, I think it could be a really interesting game mode. But right now it's too punishing in my view. (I'll just ignore all the usual hot takes from people who have never played Ruthless) |
