Does anyone know what was the resoning not to include movement gems?

Slowing the game down to a crawl.

Movement gems with cooldowns would be fine, tbh, but stuff that moves you and also kills stuff probably shouldn't kill stuff. That would be a better setup, imo.

Well, they did just that. They added a movement skill that is unique to Ruthless. Quickstep.

And it's not like there aren't other means of travel in Path of Exile such as Ambush, Consecrated Path, Flicker Strike or Chain Hook.

I'd know, I played quite a bit of Ruthless. You get around

See? That's meh. All that shit should have like 8s cooldowns or 3 stock 12s cooldowns or something. Make people walk and roll movespeed boots. That's the other reason I cba with Ruthless -- it's some random other person's idea of how slow PoE is made fun, not mine.

Isn't that ALL of PoE though? The developers decide what they think will be fun and that is how the game is created. It's never YOUR game...You are always playing in the box that someone else created for you.
Yeah, that's one huge issue with PoE : with no offline mode / normal multiplayer, you can't make mods (not sure how the WoW modders managed it, did server software leak ?!?), which also means that sadly, for now, this game has no future.

Ambush has a 5s cooldown.
Flicker Strike has a 2s cooldown (but can use Frenzy charges instead, so YMMV).
It's probably not a coincidence that they're both Dex gems, and Dex characters get movement speed nodes.

In TotA I played an SRS Guardian with Stampede boots, bringing the Ambush CD down to like 2 seconds. Felt very mobile and fast, and made me not rely on Quicksilver flask.

Modern problems, modern solutions :)

So ruthless is same as basic leagues but with slow regrind? I'm shocked and definitely never mentioned it immediately after ruthless was first released :) Once you suffer and get your gear, can play it same way as usual poe, with added fat chunk of hamster wheel internship under your belt.
