Your post I literally responded to is effectively telling them to stfu and play SSF?
I literally did not. Maybe you shouldn't have stopped reading at the mere mention of SSF, because right now you are arguing against a strawman.
I remember being a new player and thinking I have to get value out of every single item I find, doing 1c trades and whatnot. So what I suggested to OP is to limit the amount they engage with trading.
I don't see anything objectionable in my post, so your hostility is really uncalled for.

Probably this part here, especially the bolded part:

If you don't like trading, then just don't? Many players are happy and content playing SSF, or playing Trade but only buying absolute necessities. You choose how much or how little you engage with trading at all
As the other guy pointed out, it just doesn't work. Nevermind Mageblood and consorts, even basic endgame weapons are for the most part locked behind endgame bosses gated behind bazillion layers of RNG with 1% drop chance for the item. Just farming any kind of guardians aside from shaper is impossible without trade.
Plus it isn't just about buying the stuff you need. You need to get the money to do that in the first place and you typically won't be able to get that with raw C/Div drops. Personally i would be fine with POEs shitty trade system if it was just for buying stuff but you can't buy shit without selling a ton of shit first which is way worse because you have to stop doing what you are currently doing and trade instead. Nevermind that stopping what you currently do is often impossible because portals are disabled in many areas.
From start to finish your suggestion isn't working at all unless someone is willing to be content with having 60% of the game content for 10000% of the time investment.

Yup, if you single out one sentence out of an entire post then you can make what is called a strawman argument.
The trick with trading as I mentioned later is to sell less but in higher quantity (e.g. bulk trade Essences) or higher value (sell items above a threshold).
Because lets face it: the more time you spend trading the less time you spend mapping.
I agree with the sentiment that the periphery around trading can be cumbersome. TFT, PoEStack, Exilence etc. are all 3rd party tools that do things the game should have as a base feature. However, that is not gonna change anytime soon, and so I tried to offer a different perspective to how OP engages with trading.
This entire debate around something I didn't say is unnecessary.

[Removed by Support] This entire debate is unnecessary
Then I think you fundamentally missed a point in the OP which has lead us to this argument: They're complaining about difficulty finding someone to buy from, not sell to. What you suggest, while good, really only pertains to selling stuff. OP is expressing their frustration from trying to buy something and most people selling just refusing to actually make the trade.
Yes, time spent trading taking away from time mapping also applies both ways here, but if you need an important item (ex. gear) or you ran out of your favorite maps, you have to take time out looking for someone to buy from. This is unavoidable, unlike selling stuff in bulk to cut down on time making sales.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. Last edited by Pizzarugi#6258 on Jan 4, 2024, 9:42:03 AM
