I Understand Why Ultimatum Didn't Go Core Now

best part about ultimatum is the taunt guy. reward is dogshit and mobs are overtuned as usual. ran a dozen of those in t16 maps and got nothing. always 10 round, mageblood jugger. loled hard at "well rolled rares" - bro im better picking alchemy from the ground one by one.

so its unrewarding for others also...i thought it was just me

They removed archnemesis from the game in 3.20 league...well, sorta.

That "well, sorta" is kind of a key part of it. They didn't really remove them, they reduced the degree to which they were getting stacked together, but the individual modifiers are still in many cases quite awful and, despite everything else that's gotten better in the game, the feel of the game is just worse than it was before 3.18 because of it.
Fairgraves was a slave trafficker specialized in the kidnapping and transport of children. He was not "a good man".

Totally. So many insto build bricking mods that you can encounter on any mob that the variety of viable builds (at least in HC, I presume to some degree in SC as well), is the tiniest fraction of what was possible pre-AN...
As with anything lately, they gut the rewards and maintain the high difficulty. It's intentional to make the current league always the best source of rewards.

It's still one of my favorites, even if Trialmaster is now as rare as Sacred Orbs.

That is a gross exaggeration. I had 3 of them just today

Oh it ain't no exaggeration, I only got 1 trialmaster from running 100+ maps with the increased chance for boss in the 10th wave wheel allocated on my atlas tree. And I instantly died when I got teleported to the arena, before any of the effects from previous rounds were even rendered. Yep the arena was empty, trialmaster was doing his walking-forward animation and my character just dropped dead. Meanwhile one of my friends got him 4 times in less maps than me, the 4th time being even without the extra boss chance wheel on the atlas tree. And another person told me it took them over 400 maps to get 1 Trialmaster spawn. It is pure rng and just a slot machine, I have no idea what the % chance for him to appear is but I bet its under 1% lol

Trying to get Trialmaster for the ultimatum challenge this league is pure pain, worst rng challenge I've ever attempted in this game so far in 5k+ hours.

Tried about 20 of them. Blocked it. Not very enjoyable for me, not very rewarding. Took too long.

Liked metamorph a lot better.
Ultimatum is a mechanic that does not engage me. I like rituals, but in ultimatums this constants stops of action to show how you would like to die, just breaks me.

started skipping all ultimatums this league, like it is not even there. Takes too much time and very little loot, glad it does not proc automatically like breaches do, imagine that disaster lol

My feeling is that most of the complaints here come down to it being a skill issue.

But the rewards are way less than what they were in the league. Thats made it so popular was that the rewards were insane. Now ofc you can't have a league mechanic be more rewarding than the current in season mechanic so they probably toned it down a lot so people wouldn't skip affliction.

But they will probably balance the numbers and it will feel great again possibly in an upcoming patch or post this league. Both Metamorph and Expedition were poorly optimized when they were released as a permanent mechanic so give them time to iron out the details. There is a reason why this mechanic was so requested and that was because it was the embodiment of high risk high reward and usually you would only have yourself to blame for failing the mechanic as opposed to blaming the mechanic itself.

So yall need to chill because this is the same stuff people spout about every league that gets added permanently, heck people are bashing on affliction and TOTA because they couldn't understand it.

I didn't like tota because it excluded a lot of builds. After a certain rating I couldn't play my righteous fire anymore because the mobs would completely turn off my health regen and sap away all my flask charges. Just could not play that character into that mechanic at all period. The coins to start the encounter just became easy chaos to me until I had farmed enough to fund another character that league.

Ultimatum in its current state is only stupid because its a steep gear check for lame rewards. There's nothing skillful about it. You either have damage and can live or you don't.
