I Understand Why Ultimatum Didn't Go Core Now

F for metamorph. I sorely miss it

I never understood the fuss regarding ultimatum.

As a collector, I only cared about ultimatum league for the vaal themed relics. The mechanic I could care less.

It's a bad loot simulator. Ritual is the same but better and more fun. Wish they kept Tane

Didn't play Ultimatum league so don't have a comparison point, but the Ultimatum encounters I've had so far are pretty unappealing. Spend x amount of time to be rewarded with a trash corrupted rare? Sure...

There also seems to be an invisible difficulty boost at wave 6 or 7. First 5-6 waves are a walk in the park, then things start to seriously chunk life even if I upgrade just the miasma that chases me. Took a couple of deaths to get adjusted to that sudden spike in difficulty.

I'm getting very often one shoted, take long time, no good rewards (6c max), no drop from mobs. Forest is meh, again OP modifiers to mobs, soul eater with empower, no enchant and gem changes feels like nerf. Jesus :/
And meanwhile - sanctum run in 15 min with few divines rewards, whats the point of playing aRPG to play sanctum be super profitable?

Ultimatum loot is nerfed very badly indeed.
Except for that one guy who got a div one time.
The other 99.999% can go ---- themselves, I guess

First Ult-ended it after 9 rounds, the last one had crap reward.
Second Ult-chose a smaller arena for next round, instagibbed instantly because I was standing outside the new bounds. WTF...IIRC that bug was present in Ultimatum and was patched.

Yeah...this is a mess.

I did ONE ultimatium on a T2 map. Got to round 7, had seen ZERO rewards I'd even bother picking up off the ground (hell, that might filter might have even shown), then upon starting round 8, the whole game hitched like it was going to crash and I died.

i9 13900, 4090, runs every other game flawless. 2 second freeze on an Ulti round spawn straight into death.

Not gunna lie, I was excited for Ulti to come back. Decent rewards and lots of fun in Ulti league, but yeah, they nerfed it into "another boring thing to juice with the atlas tree to make it remotely interesting".

If you ask me, the Atlas Passive Tree is legitimately killing the game for me. They can go ahead and make EVERY SINGLE LEAGUE MECHANIC SUCK because they've put together a convoluted way (that requires unlocking the majority of the atlas to begin using) to JUSTIFY EVERYTHING SUCKING.

"Here children, you can have 12 league mechanics. TWO will be even remotely worth your time, and you have to allocate MORE points for that to happen, and now there's MORE regret orbs you'll have to farm or buy if you want to change which ones are fun. Now go play with your dead cat we scraped off the road for you!"

Ultimatum always had different reward pools for low level and high level maps (I think the break point for the highest tier used to be T13?).

I don't know why people expected to farm divines in white maps lmao

THIS, why the hell is Sanctum (which i personally hate most of all leagues) so rewarding? I blame Sanctum for all the prices on market.

Yup, also Ultimatum is very rippy for my terrible Vodafone Internet. And if internet does work well, somehow my hardware isnt enough for PoE anymore, yet BDO and D4 run smoothly.
