[0.11.2] Flicker Samurai - Ranger Build Guide [updated]

After respeccin and gearing up my cleaver to meet this builds specs, I'd say this is in NO WAY a build that is remotely end-game viable.

Why level a character all the way up if you know that you won't be able to join the high level 6-man map groups?

Its a shame cuz its very fun to play.

Cheers.

If you had read the "cons" or the "summary" sections, you would have seen that I said exactly this, and probably could have avoided disappointment.
Maps *are* do-able, and the videos are in there to show it. I don't play in groups, as most map-groups are US, which gives me 300 ping and is unplayable for this build.

You answered your own question.
"there is no spoone" - The Matricks
I started a new character just for this build recently and it's REALLY awesome. I could spam flicker with blood rage at lvl 28 and it's the fastest lvling spec I ever played with.
I'm 48 duelist now, here is my tree

Desync can be annoying but it didn't kill me yet. I'm just not sure if I should go for crit as I only have 4L now, and I'm using

-> I might need glove slot for extra resists, so no maligaros. Passive tree would give me only 160% crit chance increase. I linked flicker with multistrike + melee splash + melee physical dmg. It's just speculations, I have never played a crit based build.

Just starting PoE back up after a long break and I am liking the look of this build (for fun). However, I do not know if it is still relevant or not? There seems to have been a huge ranger tree change recently, but I don't know how recent and whether this has been taken into account in the opening post (the last update seems recent enough though).

Thanks!

Now level 78 with this build I made a cheaper version with no crits specialisation (except 20% flicker)
here is my passive tree

My gear is still not optimal but i got this

As a 5 link I would add culling strike (20%) as culling realy help keeping frenzy charges.

Now I can do 67 [edit 68 /] blue maps alone (realy quick)

Love this build !

Amazing...this has deviated so much from what it used to be that I am now left with a useless character.

This has not derived so much => now level 82 and I finally got lucky finding a 6L sword whith crit at steal price (3.3 ex)
My actual gear

So i went back to some of your choices : crit multiplier is the best for DPS increase, staking 12% phys only bost DPS very few

"

Actual stats :
78 all resist (purity)
15 chaos
4k life
48% evade
18k dps flicker (7 frenzy + 4 power charges) 92% chance to hit

Can easly solo 69/70 blue maps just have to be carefull on reflect mobs : auto one shot if flicker crit :)

add enflebee on hard hitting bosses crit weakness on high life ones.

Hope we can add this build to the "build of the week" that may come back :)

This build looks awesome to say the least but i can't stand softcore. Is there any way to make this more viable for hardcore or has anyone actually played this build on hardcore?
Hello !
Now level 85 ! new gloves
and amu

They got me to 24k dps and then my flicker got to level 20 : 27K dps with all aura & charges

Let sell what the 2 handers 1.0.0 bump will do.

For the "hardcore" version of this build i see two ways : getting one handed and add a shield to the equation. (there is a nice topic in the duelist forum)

Or using the new "on damage gem" with imortal call to deal with reflect.

Reflect is the only problem ... so may be removing the crit part of the build and using cullin strike to keep quick frenzy charge reload could work

6L will be fliker + multistrike + splash + lgoh + culling + phy damage or accuraty (depending on how much reflect you can handle)

"hardcore" version of the buid

I'm having a really hard time reconstructing this...

Now it feels like I have to choose between going for the crit or the surviability/% damage over in the duelist tree.

I just can't make it work any other way with the amount of points my ranger has.

Has anyone else found a way to balance between those?
