[0.11.2] Flicker Samurai - Ranger Build Guide [updated]

Well, damn. Do you find you can tank at least one hit from map bosses with nerfed IR?
I wouldn't imagine armor playing a very big role in mitigating that damage when compared to end charges and 3k+ hp, but my flickerer is at a measly lvl 56 and my highest toon at 75 so you would know much better than me.

I kind of want to go dodge for leveling but it would take so many respec points I may just stick with nerfed IR and rely on end charges/immo cry until I can use Vaal Pact.

Also, a couple questions unrelated to the patch if you don't mind- have you played a variant with Vaal Pact at all?
I was thinking I could pick up a Carnage Heart if I go the IR route but just like Chayula, the reduced max life scares the crap outta me. If I don't pick up Carnage Heart it'd be fairly expensive to get enough leech from gear but it looks so strong I might end up dropping a few exalteds on this char just to try it out.

Also, is the increased phys dmg taken from Abysuss as noticeable as it looks on paper? It seems like basically a guaranteed one shot from any phys boss and potentially clusters of weaker mobs than that.

Lastly, why no Unwavering in your armor build? Are you not worried about stuns between flickers or stuns from spell? I haven't run without US/IR so idk how often something like that would come up.

Tyvm for any info you can give, I really appreciate the time you've taken to write this guide and answer my questions =D

Acrobatics is fine for most map bosses, just not the ones that hit like trucks, e.g. spider boss, brutus boss, and probably a few others, they can, and will, one-shot you.

I don't take unwavering simply because I find it to not be necessary, my armour and HP is high enough that stun is practically never a problem, and it allows me to save ~5 points for other things. Remember that stun calculation is based off health (not ES) and damage taken, so having a life build with decent armour greatly helps mitigate it. Crappy mobs don't stun me, and hard hitting ones only sometimes, but never been really been stun locked.

I've tried life based vaal pact build variants in the past and they are horrible. I would only ever consider a vaal pact version if I was going some kind of energy-shield variant of the build. With HP, vaal is really bad, and furthermore, unless you have _massive_ life leech, you're still not going to be able to deal with reflect anyway.

Abysuss is an insane damage increase, but yeah you pay the price in survivability, only really shows versus hard hitting enemies.

If you're using immortal call, then there's really no need for vaal pact.

Ok, thanks very much!
I would have thought leech from Vaal Pact would give more survivability than that but I'll for sure take your word on it.

If you don't mind one last question- why is Pact so much better with ES than health?

Because energy shield can still regenerate when you have vaal pact - health can't, and when you have blood rage on, your health is constantly draining away with no way to recover it.

Not to say it can't work, but you'd need a _lot_ of life leech and chaos resistance to make it worthwhile, I just don't see that happening for me personally.

Ah ok forgot it eliminated hp regen and not just flask recovery. Thanks very much for the explanation!
Thanks for updating ;)

Your evasion link seems to be broken. It seems it was from 0.11.0 :O

Hi, loving the build so far, been playing it for a day so far, it's probably the most fun I've had in PoE.

I'm having a problem though, and with such a specific build like this I'm not surprised, but I'm hoping maybe you can provide a bit of insight where my knowledge seems to fall short.
At the moment I'm level a fresh level 60, don't have a 6L so I'm missing either Increased Critical Strikes or Power Charges on Critical. I can't seem to keep up my frenzy charges. Every now and then I'll get an extra one or two, but I can't seem to Flicker for longer than 10 seconds at a time, then I have to frenzy some more charges. I'm wondering if there's a trick I can do to maximize efficiency or maybe I'm missing something.

Here's my gear:

My build:

I'd like to get a Maligaro's and an Abysuss by I just can't afford it right now. I understand why I'm having this problem, I'm just wondering as to how much it'll cost to fix.
@Kry
I noticed no Blood Rage gem on your gear, it gives a frenzy charge on kill. That's how you sustain frenzy charges.
Glhf =)
I assume Bronn's Lithe would be a good chest piece to run flicker strike on for the +2 levels on it right?
Hello how are you, well i post here a dude.

My fliker strike somethimes just do one hit and stop, and got no curses or stun's and somethimes its nevers ends.

So what happen, why somethimes only jump one time, whit Fliker+Multi+Blood and somethimes its do well duno what happening

another thing is lag own this build? cuz somethimes it jump and jump and jump and dont deal dmg on normal monsters, getting 100% acurazing.
