Hope the TOTA league mechanics never make it to the core

Rewards and tattoos itself was a good idea, but everything else is terrible, unless you have a dedicated build - zdps with high eva, high evade, high block with slow/push spells, it feels so unbalanced.
Non-decicated build takes 5 minutes per room on zone lower than character, tons of damage needed.

The whole point of tota is that it's not about damage to prevent people from instant killing all the ennemy warriors and winning the match without doing the mechanic the intented way.
Also I would add that most content require specific builds that work best for that content if you want to optimize profit/hour, whether its for sanctum, tota, heist, ubers, group mf ...
I do hope that a few tattoos stay in the game some way because its a really cool way to min max your build, make use of attributes you don't need and it also adds value to attributes on items in general.

I strongly disagree and want it to go core.

I play it on my normal build and enjoy it. I tried the cheese strat but didn’t find it enough of an improvement to bother grinding ranks on it.

It isn’t imbalanced - you can reliably beat it with proper strategy on any build - but it certainly helps to have a stronger build. My pathfinder can do moderately deep delving and simulacrum 30 and is absolutely fine to engage in combat in ToTA when it’s needed(at 1.4k rank and climbing).

If anything about it needs tweaking it’s the ability to cap your rank early like how you can delve sideways. Wouldn’t bother me that much if it went core without it.
I played it on my main build till around 1.7k.

I then made a cheese build and had to grind all the way back up, but I finally made it to 2k.

It's fine on a normal build, it takes longer, and you have to think about your units the entire time, but it's very doable.

I think TotA is very cool, and I would be highly surprised if it does not go core(sure maybe a league off to make it a bit better, but in general, I believe it will come back)
They need to make wholesale balance changes to this if it is to go core. Otherwise it will just remain a oneshotty "stare at your corpse" simulator that sometime spits out good rewards for those who can suffer through it with cheese builds.

Tattoos have been a good addition because it gives more flexibility in how you build your character. Definitely the best part about the league.

If it stays unchanged, I don't want it to go core.

I actually think that is why its imbalanced, its about the only mechanic where you can just have an absolute trashbag character and print currency - sanctum is super generous but still has some staple requirements you can win at Tota with next to nothing.
I didn't really care for TOTA, the tattoos were cool, but everything else seemed complex. I did it about 10 times and I didn't really get the hang of it. There's too many tribes and it doesn't really fit into maps either.

It isn't really that intuitive.

the fact it takes me away from mapping completly is one the main draws for me. Dont have to worry about rolling maps, buying mapping supplys etc. I can just get home from work and blast ToTa or sanctum for a couple hours with out worrying about anything like that.

I don't think TotA is too hard (or too easy). I don't think you need dedicated char to play it (but it sure helps, as with all other mechanics in the game). I don't think it's too rewarding (or not rewarding enough). I think it's mind numbingly BORING. And that's my main beef with TotA.
The way campaign should be played by your second and any subsequent characters: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3772827
