[Possible Solution found!] Patch 3.22 Performance Issues

Something else I have noticed and maybe someone else can confirm this;

-> When I watch a youtube video without the game open it uses around 7%-9% of the GPU. It's pretty stable.
-> When I start the game, the GPU usage of my browser skyrockets to 70-75%!!!

This happens in Vivaldi and Brave for me. Both have Hardware Acceleration enabled.

Anyone else?

It's awful. I'm on AMD 5700x with RX6700xt (12gb). I normally run at high 1440p.
Loading times fine here, but on DX11 and Vulkan there is terrible judder & stutters, actually unplayable, as if it were high ping or de-syncing. On dx12 performance is smooth, but GPU usage and temps are through the roof, maps frequently have large tiles areas of see through space instead of textures, and when that happens some enemies become invisible too.
Blight is unplayable.
I play on GeForce Now since I'm playing on Macbook and the game is unplayable. Very frustrating, it always was a bit laggy in previous leagues but it was fine considering I'm using a service to be able to play...

I was assigned machines on RTX 3060 and RTX 2080, both are incredibly laggy even with every setting to the lowest.

So as someone who has had any number of performance issues this league, i tried the trial membership of geforce now, and it resolved most of the issues that i was having while mapping/ loading into maps etc. A t16 expedition was the only time that i encountered problems, but even then the stuttering was temporary. It wasnt 100% perfect, but if that was the level of the problems that i encountered this league I could live with it.

Now, im personally not going to sign up to the paid service and will wait until ggg does something to make the game playable for me and the many others who have been screwed recently, but its definitely something for people to consider. They shouldnt be forced to, but it is what it is.
My "solution" that thankfully has worked with some odd minor things: Swap to Predictive (maybe Auto?) Networking Mode in the game's log-in screen Options.

I'm having the Shader issue as well. It's relatively smooth all day until "prime time?" US from like 6pm+ US central. I run the same map over and over without Deli (deli is also a multiplier to this issue), so it's obvious when GGG's issue shows up. To clarify, too, my load times are normal any time of the day. My only issue is the Shader issue.

I switched my Networking Mode (log in screen options) from Lockstep to Predictive last night. I even tested swapping them out in the same map and it was much smoother.

Lockstep forces the server to keep you at pace with itself. Well, you're downloading Shaders nonstop and that is always causing CPU (loading shaders, fps spike) and Latency (downloading from server) spikes which in turn show as stuttering on your screen and your game play suffers.

Predictive doesn't fix that auto downloading Shaders, but it allows you to move independently of the server, so the server just updates your location when it can. If you show the performance stats while you play, you'll see the issue still happening, but because your positioning isn't tied to the server, the slideshow is gone. Note: This also indicates the bottleneck is GGG's servers in terms of Shader handling so further proof (maybe?) that it's not so much our rigs. Also leads us to asking people having issues or not whether they're using Auto/Lockstep/Predictive.

Predictive's downside is you're always "steps" ahead of where the server thinks you are, so if you're playing touch n go difficulty (maybe 1 shot bosses?), it might not be ideal still, but regular zoom mapping should be fine. I have noticed that some essence mobs don't spawn w/ their "nameplate" above their head but they are still clickable.

Hopefully this helps anyone reading it.

Directx12 (beta)
Vsync off
Triple buffering disabled
Foreground FPS Cap off
All other settings on low or disabled.

I am using GFN also but having a lot of issues, what configurations are you using?

Edit solution to first post.
Hello!

I posted this on a new forum post.

Just started Ancestors yesterday and discover it was unplayable due to cpu latency. I tried every idea I found. Clean all shadowing folders and files and others mystical tricks related to fullscreen or servers and etc...
I was surprised when I tryed to play in 3840x2160 and this make the game more playable.
The last, not working reeally but maybe a little, was limiting frame rate to 30 fps and culling it at 60. Just after thinking around my cpu core limits.
But I remembered that long time ago, with a 750ti but not because of it, it was needed to inactive multithreading in game option, and decided to give it a try.

What a surprise! I can play with full graphic option, now with a 1060 6gb, in 4k 3840x2160 at 50 fps with absolutly no lag, I never saw the game so nice and smooth.

Not sure that this can help everyone with any configuration but I can't understand why I played this game so laggy for years because they say that unactivation of engine multithreading is (not recommended). I suppose that when I activated multithreading first time year's ago my system could handle this, but with low options and resolution, and when I upgraded my gfx I don't noticed any évolution, but now I know that multithreading is not well handled by POE on many system's.
Or maybe multithreading is more broken by the new patch.

My system is pretty old: I5-3570k, 1060 6Gb, ram 24Gb

I actually have a new game ands it's called POEnolag

Ok I need to try some bigger boosted map's, but I think this deserved a post.

Edit: The multithreading seems to not be deactivated, the 4 core of my proc are evenly used 40-60% depends of some context, 80% when loading and my 3D card is 80-90% used (30% before)

Yea this CPU latency has been ongoing problem recently after the engine update but it's a very old bug (multithreading optimization) that also appeared in some older patches but recently it hit a wide range of people as well specially with older i5/i7 and some AMD CPU's too, it doesn't matter what setting you are playing on if you manage to trick your CPU to be at certain usage threshold it stabilize the game engine and the CPU latency without turning off the multithreading engine in the settings

Thanks for the link, I now I know where to go.
But something is odd, maybe more linked to proc Cstate power management.
In my case multithreading is deactivated in game but seems fully functional, all threads seems to be actives and game is very smooth and playable even full graphic options.
