[Possible Solution found!] Patch 3.22 Performance Issues
|
GGG - What is happening with this new patch.
Shaders aren't being remembered as they are consistently downloading each time you load the same zone over and over. The lag and jitter is ridiculous to the point where the game is unplayable. Monster skills are invisible and player skills also. Loading screens have gone from 5 seconds to 60+ seconds. I have uninstalled and completed a fresh install and which did not fix anything. Environmental textures missing - skill textures missing. Pre 3.22 the game although on my low end PC ran fine. Post 3.22 the game is unplayable to the point where I am considering returning to the boring Diablo 4 season. Something isn't right and it needs to be acknowledged as the technical support forum is clearly filled with similar issues. I may sound like an entitled spoiled brat, but I have been playing for 10 years. I play every season to the end game. This issue has me stopping before end of campaign. There has to be something that can help. Last edited by ChazReinhold#4133 on Aug 23, 2023, 5:58:55 AM Last bumped on Sep 25, 2023, 1:35:30 AM

what they really needed to do was to apply this to everyones environments apon updating. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/15icji4/how_i_solved_my_performance_issues_on_an_old/
the loading delays are due to them not caching everything in vram anymore. essentially they used to cache things in vram until the game crashed. |

I tried this method. My PC wouldn't allow deleting one of the Cache folders. Could not find the Explorer.exe in task manager either. Did everything but that step.
Then I fresh installed the game deleting all folders and files. Still nothing. If that method didn't help then am I forced to get a new top end PC? It appears a lot of people with decent rigs are getting issues too? |

" If this is the case, that's a horrible "fix". Staring at not even one out of 8 gigs of vram in use whilst waiting 30 seconds to load into someone's hideout or the rogue harbour is insane. | |
" Yea that's a joke. I have a GTX 1070 which by now is a pretty old card but even with this thing it's barely using like 4GB of VRAM even though the card has 8GB. vaal or no balls

Bump, GGG get on it, I need my guild mates back. PS. By low end, he still means a 1080, so its not like its THAT low.

FYI also for everyone else.
A 1080 and CPUs with 6 cores shouldn't be having issues with a game like POE. If a game like BG3 is having no issues with sets up like this then the fault lies with POE and GGG. Don't go out running to buy $1000 GPUs and high-end CPUs as you most likely find yourself right in the same spot again. Just in 4K. The move GGG needs to be making is removing the graphical patches from the game. Or the ones they have been pushing into the game for the past few weeks. |

" It does nothing. |
