Name Shaming

Oh c`mon now, it`s actualy quite complicated to scam in this game.
If you fall for hc-sc-trading, some fusing-lottery, not reading what your mouse-over tells you or dropping ur shit on the ground, your just asking for it. Some balance of reason. You guys make it look like this game was all about griefers, besides loot-snatchin i`ve not ONCE encountered a scammer till now, but i also don`t tend to give my credit-card to complete strangers in real life aswell. If you want to start some social-media-page (no expert on this) to report scammers -> have at it and just wait till your name pops up there cause you pissed someone of. Try posting your medieval ideas on some other Developer/Publisher-Forums, like Blizz or Steam, etc. and see how long you will be able to post in the future (hint: not for long). This is such a ridiculous discussion, probably a new highscore atop the troll-o-meter. Just amazing. |

" The thing is, griefers don't really care about people like you, they really just want to ruin the days of the gullible, the slow-witted, and the greedy. They're after the people who will flip their shit and rage quit the game after losing their level 60 HC character to a bandit PK scheme. The kinds of people who post in their farewell thread they will warn their friends that this game is nothing but a cesspool of griefers and scammers and they should stay away from it. The people who would say the mods are siding with the griefer by editing out the name or deleting the post. Sure there are plenty of people who would just shrug and tell themselves "well that was stupid of me" or "lesson learned". It's probably why every closed name-and-shame thread doesn't generate a drama-splosion for weeks on end. IGN: Ikimashouka, Tsukiyattekudasai, DontCallMeMrFroyo

" I think those people fit into the category I was alluding to of 'not my sort of game - I'll play something else' or, more likely, people who a community of happy gamers wouldn't want around anyway (who would want someone around who shits all over you and the things you like?) " Not sure if sarcastic... IGN: ScrubcoreRulezBitch

" I don't think I have to admit that at all. I think it's not at all equivalent. As the GGG staff have pointed out, you cannot scam someone in PoE if they use the trade interface and pay attention. Naming-and-shaming tends to be used an awful lot to accuse people of things they didn't do, or accuse them of things that someone disapproves of but which aren't actually against the rules. And this can create all sorts of problems. People don't lose a negative reputation just because the accusations against them were found to be false. Learn to play, noob! <http://www.l2pnoob.org>

" I'm not an expert in these things, but couldn't someone easily start a sub-reddit for this purpose? PS - Charan is a kiwi lover |

Not sure why we need an external site, just a different process than already exists. If we had a subforum where people when to post their evidence, and that evidence was not available for viewing until reviewed and accepted by GGG/Mods, then it would become open, would this not suffice. You say you do not have the resource, but aren't you already investigating support tickets that people submit on this topic. The only difference is that the submission would be done here, instead of email, and the results of verified scammers/botters/etc would be made public in a singular area.
