PoE2 Aggorat Teaser

Maybe this is one of the new ascendancies and every ascendancy is getting its own character model.

On a different note it seems so weird to see them turning their campaign into this gameplay that has movement baked into the damaging skill gems. Wonder how that will hold up into the end game if they truly are keeping the PoE 1/2 different campaigns with 'the same shared endgame we have today'.

We are getting new set of exiles for poe2 actually
They *will* obliterate their entire playerbase if they will introduce nu diablo/lost ark mmo skill rotation on cooldown trash combat. I guess the d4 refugees will feel right at home, but i'll pass.

I think it just looks that way because they wanted to showcase different skills and animations.
Not gonna lie, this made my hopeless, shriveled heart excited again.

Ironically enough, that's precisely what the D4 refugees are fleeing from - that the game never gets to the 1-button lawnmover gameplay.

Don't take me wrong though - I personally can enjoy both systems, action combat with a bunch of buttons to press and a 1-button lawnmover, and since there aren't all that many lawnmover-style games, I would hate to see PoE going away from that....

But at the same time, it does look like it - it's not fast, but gradually, many things that were easily automated are becoming more manual, and new buttons to press are being introduced, like the recent boom of vaal skills (that's effectively a cooldown skill). The automation support for flasks feels like it has been done to free space for buttons to be pressed. Even highly endgame builds now press a bunch of stuff - a typical archer has a clear skill, a vaal version of the clear skill, ballista single target skill, blood rage, and one to two movement skills to press. That's actually really close to a Lost Ark style combat, so the change wouldn't even be a drastic one.
This trailer was the best I've seen but still not enough information to make any judgement.

We just don't know what links they are running. There was a ton of character movement but again we don't know if it was just a support gem or not.

Again great teaser the game looks nice. I would have thought maybe someone at GGG would have given out a small interview with two teasers being released.
I know a lot of people are looking for their one-click-only, RMB Gothic Cookie Clicker game, but I have to admit I'm looking forward to a version of Path of Exile where that's not the only option. It'll never not be an option, 9+ 6Ls or no, but if the new system allows for more stylish combat options like what we saw in this teaser without being so drastically inefficient/ineffective that there's no point in doing it? Then hey - more options for more people. Stuff like this wuxia staff kit is just cool, and if you can be Cool while keeping up with average clear speeds for non-BoomerZoomer, Maps-Per-Second nonsense, all the better, ne? Not like you can't keep building maximum-zoom one-button builds, the game is just expanding to the point where other builds are actually possible.

I really hope thats the case but honestly I wouldn't stick around if they added cooldown. If thats what I wanted POE is the last place I'd go for it.

Honestly im more worried about how exactly they want to slow down the gameplay.
In one trailer we saw walking and running. I want to play a god slayer not an asthmatic. With the item durability it was the worst part of D2 for the love of god don't add that here.
Why am I still here

I mean, the issue that's faced Grinding Gear for years is that for every player who adores BoomerZoomer Maps-Per-Second FasterFasterFasterGoGoGoGOGOGOGO, there's another player who honestly kinda hates that shit. A player who just wants to play at their own natural pace, without using animation-canceled movement skills to get an effective 1200% movement speed and who only ever play on linear corridor-shooter maps they can clear in fifteen seconds or less. Path of Exile has to be equally playable to both types of player. Not equally profitable, the Boomer Zoomer will always make more currency than the Natural Pacer, but the game has to WORK at both speeds.

That and as has been stated elsewhere, the trailers are always "painfully" slow by Boomer Zoomer standards. They need to be - people who aren't Boomer Zoomers have to be able to watch the trailer and be impressed by the animations, environments, and effects on display. Boomer Zoomer gameplay is basically a slideshow - the character moves so fast and transitions between states so quickly that the concept of "animations" falls off entirely. It's a frame of nothing but monsters exploding, a frame of moving to the next pack, then another frame of the pack exploding, repeat. It's thrilling for Boomer Zoomer players, but it's also absolutely terrible for showing off new graphical mojo and Cool Animation Stuff. It's frankly the next best thing to unwatchable, especially as teasers to try and entice a non-PoE audience into checking out a new game.

So don't worry. You'll be able to Boom & Zoom. But the trailers are going to be tuned for Natural Pace players because those are the ones that actually care about trailers and such.
