Pretty sure Merveil as the dreaded final boss predated the vendor recipe for resistance rings.

Yep, people wouldn't even attempt it until they'd farmed for enough cold res. Good to see you still here dude <3.

Thanks. It's always nice to see your cute pup icon show up on threads. Oh, and, remember dodging behind the pillars to avoid Merveil's Ice Spears? Not sure those pillars ever even show up, anymore. =^[.]^=

Remember there was an area between The Ship Graveyard and The Coves.

Remember when there were big chests containing more loot in specific side areas.

Remember Descent and Descent: Champions.

Remember Eternals being a couple Exalts.

Remember when some uniques where league drop only.

Remember:

I also remember me trading an AA Heatshiver for some crappy bow.

It's bitter sweet. Sadly Willem is no longer with us but I always knew this account would outlive him and that was part of the point of immortalizing him here.
I remember, Those were my most active Rarefinder
days and dropping some rares/uniques really was a big deal for new people and a lot of fun to help boost their journey a little bit.

Partys were friendly and mapping together was pretty widely accessible with none of the my-loot-or-ban-from-life rules dominating the party list and at worst you'd have to follow some rules in serious partys for loot sharing or other stuff but you wouldn't be treated like a stat-stick for rarefinding.

Trading was terrible but when i did find a trade the people were reasonable and generally willing to accept misc currency, there were so many times i simply did not have a good offer and people both accepted and denied usually in a very nice manner for the most part.

I remember being so bad when piety was added in act 3 that i had to ask a friend to come help me kill her, I thought he was some kind of god because he had a few aura's and i hadn't really figured out how to make a balanced character yet.

The map device from the storyline made me so many friends and experiences from level 40+ we could do maps with a decent character there or in our hideouts, I remember a few characters starting in maps at 40-50 and just zooming.

There's so much good stuff from the old days, I wouldn't go back for much of it but the stuff that brought us closer together i'd have to say is what i miss the most.
Innocence forgives you
Public games felt different then. The notice board had parties to join, and annoying advertisements for WTB/WTS.

Public Docks, Dried Lakes, Aqueduct, etc. runs. I do miss those. It was a quick way to join without much interaction and how I saw so many different builds quickly.

If there is one thing I miss though, it's probably the old version of Cast on Crit builds where all spells triggered. I understand the issue, but I still miss them. Maybe boss runs that were worthwhile.
Thanks for all the fish!

I imagined that might be the case. But I'm certain your Willem had the best life you could give him, and you still have all those memories of his lifetime. I don't think it gets any better than that. =^[.]^=

Thank you, he did indeed have a good life and as the circle of life continues, I now have a son to focus on instead. Can't wait to teach him how to fish xD

Remember the great old days and leagues without TFT and market manipulation being a thing?
it's still a thing on ssf xD

You can't trade in ssf so it's not the same as the pretty old leagues without TFT.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

It's funny how the general gaming public reflect the general public way of life.
Oh, hi Monsta!
Good to see you around. It's been a long time!

Hope you're doing well.
