Can we please get a acution house for Poe 2?
When we stop acknowledging that problems exist then we stop looking at their potential solutions. I know there are different views people have on this topic, but this is a serious problem in my opinion that should be addressed by the company. It's the reason I personally stopped playing PoE and I really hope it's addressed in PoE2.
The main argument against automated trade is that it goes against the game manifesto. The designers essentially want time spent on trading to be a 'cost'. But this 'cost' can be built into the automated trading system by making it scarce, which can hypothetically be done in all kinds of ways . In short, if the amount of trades you can do are limited then players will still be incentivized to sell in bulk and to sell expensive items only. An automated trade system solves a lot of problems. - it eliminates the time players waste trading - it allows players to continue their rhythm, game immersion, and enjoyment - it eliminates the desire for trading bots which are against ToS - it eliminates the possibility of non-service trade scammers - it can eliminate or at least hamper many pay-to-win avenues The trading system can be made a point of scarcity in many ways. - you could provide limited number of trades per account per day / week similar to how a limited number of stash tabs are provided. - you could require some kind of in-game currency payment to trade - you could create a new currency that would allow you to do a trade - you could monetize the trade in a similar way to how stash tabs are monetized These are just ideas off the top of my head. I'm not saying they're great. But if automated trade is scarce, then it has a cost, and it won't be abused. The days of "in person" linking up for trade is unbelievably archaic, wasteful, and annoying and needs to end. Build whatever scarcity and costs you want into the automated system and move on.
