Trading is terribad

" It would not be 'most people' listing stuff, but bots... Their 'worth the effort' is so ridiculously low that they'd swamp the trade system. |

There would be no point running 10 times as many bots if the number of items you can sell is limited anyway so that's just another fake argument. I honestly doubt that anyone aside from bot users uses more than ~5 tabs actively to sell stuff. Maybe some of the 0,0000001% as well but it's a tiny minority.
" They are doing exactly that even now. Nothing we discuss here has any effect on bots because they don't give a rats ass about all the annoyances GGG builds into trade. Last edited by Baharoth15#0429 on May 23, 2023, 7:59:48 AM

Let me just remind all the people who think that a better trade system would somehow undermine item value and magically destroy the economy of one key thing here.
The console version already has one! On console you simply go to the Market Board and submit an offer for the item you want to buy. Then, when the seller has the time (when they're DONE with their map, not in the middle of it) they go accept the offer, they get the currency you offered and you get the item. Easy. Simple. Already exists. DOES NOT magically obliterate the economy or magically enable mass botting. (which we ALREADY HAVE) Someone said before that there is a tradeoff on console because the Market Board on console lacks mod line filtering? This person has clearly never bothered to glance to the right of the trade pages search bar, because you can use the trade page to search for items on console! Once you have found the item you want, it then becomes a trivial matter to find it on the Market Board and submit an offer. Does the console version have a miserably worthless economy? No, its pretty much the same. Does the console version have more botting then the PC version? No, its the same. Does the console version discourage playing the game for loot instead of trading? No, console players actually play the game MORE because they're allowed to do so because they aren't forced to waste half their day in their hideout. Does it discourage the purchase of stash tabs? No, console players buy the same amount of crap. We already have a long standing PROVEN example of how an easy trade DOES NOT have any negative impact AT ALL on THIS EXACT GAME thanks to there already being easy trade on console. Literally just put the damn Market Board in the PC version and nothing will change about the value of items or the economy just like nothing changed for console for having the Market Board since it released there to begin with. None of the arguments against a better trade system make the slightest shred of sense when one already exists in the console version and it has NONE of the impact people claim it will. All these are are bullshit excuses for GGG to continue to give not one single solitary shit about the complete lack of QoL in their game. They shovel the nonsense in heaps onto your plate and y'all scarf it down like its the food of the gods and come back asking, "Please Sir, may I have another?" Here's another suggestion for how to limit an Auction House feature that would make it so it has zero impact on the value of valuable items but would solve most of the problems with the current system. Set a price cap. If we cant list items on the AH for more then 200c then items of high value cannot possibly be impacted but it still solves the issue of not being able to obtain an item worth 1c because nobody selling them will respond to your trade request as well as the problem of not wanting to leave a map for low cost sales. If the sale is worth leaving a map for it'll be listed on classic trade, if it isn't it'll be done automatically through the AH. This will drastically help new players who don't understand why they cant just buy a god damned 1c unique while not hurting veteran players who want the rare drop they just got to be worth something. (Not that an AH would have any impact on the economy at all, as we have seen with the console version already having one, but as long as we are pretending it somehow will we might as well make suggestions that will prevent the pretend apocalypse)
