Can an auction house be implented
" This doesnt make sense. A normal, and especially new, player is not going to automate 2000 message to buy up the market in the current system. A price fixer will. A normal player will not have bots abusing the current system with automated notices and bots running 24-7. A price fixer will. The current inefficient system favors RMTers and professional price fixers, not normal players. |

Can it? Yes.
Will it? No. The nerfs will continue until morale improves.

" A solution to that problem would be to make crafting cheaper and easier to get into. I'm talking 3.13 era Harvest crafting. Your success living and dying on trade availability is suddenly gone when you can just create what you want. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

I am hopeful that this might actually be able to happen. I remember when it used to be that if you dared speak the phrase, "auction house" you'd get flamed by droves of people using broken nonsense logic to mock you, call you a "scrub" and tell you to just "get better at trading" whatever tf that means. Now look, its the other way around, the small number of people showing up to commence the flaming are getting shot down by the droves of responses in support of an AH system of some kind. Not only that but after people just got bullied into quitting, the thread requesting an AH would vanish in a day or so. How long has this post been on page 1 now? We've reached 4 pages of responses, mostly from people making numerous fantastic arguments for why this NEEDS to happen. Not only that but there are now two posts talking about this same exact issue and they're BOTH sticking to page 1 like the hand of a toddler who found the super glue sticks to his own face. They can only continue to ignore and dismiss all these concerns and entirely valid arguments for so long. Maybe if we keep this on page 1 by keeping this discussion going for the rest of this league and well into the next one they might wake up and smell the coffee?
Here is another reason this needs to happen. Sometimes when you get a whisper for a sale you aren't willing to leave a map for (or when you're in the middle of a lab run or a delve) and you don't respond, the person will take to spamming you with messages and party invites until you set them to ignore. Honestly though, who can blame them? I know I'm not the only one who gets sick and tired of wasting half my time whispering people who never respond to buy even the simplest of items, items that have no business being that hard to obtain in the first place because they drop constantly and I've just run out because the crafting bench decided to be rude af that day and devour over 1k Chromatic orbs trying to get the right colors on a 4l. Not only that but has anyone else ever tried to buy literally anything in bulk trade? Every bulk seller uses a click bot. Every. Single. One. Its literally a necessity to sell in bulk to have and use a click bot. Nobody can click fast enough to fill an entire inventory with Chromatic Orbs in under 2 seconds and yet that's what you see every time you buy in bulk. You open trade, put in your few stacks of Chaos or your 1 Div, and the other persons trade window fills up literally faster then you can even mouse over the items, let alone chick on them individually and wait for TCP delay to make you miss several of those clicks and have to double back. Bare minimum these people enabled TCPNoDelay and have superhuman click speed and precision to be able to accomplish that. If we had an Auction house there would not be this need for a click bot just for the logistics of the bulk trade that THEY ADDED THEMSELVES to be reasonable. |
