Absolution gameplay is worse than poop

Hi,

I don’t know if this is still an issue for you. But link your skitterbot with Infernal Minion should able you to clear white and blue mobs fairly easy. Skitter bot is unkillable so infernal minion is just free damage. It also scales with your added minion damage passives. Once you get to Carrion Golem, things get even easier. There is also a passive skill that links increase and reduction to minion damage to your character. Which can help quiet a bit.

I think the majority share your opinion, it's a nice skill overall, it just doesn't fit me

And i disagree, 3 is plenty, having more = bloatware = you can't see shit during fights anymore

It just need easier to spawn sentinels and better ways to scale the damage, all my PoBs cap between 4-7m dps, wich is too low for the gear investment

Correct - YOUR PoBs. I think it is pretty funny that you´re completely talking down one of the strongest minion setups right now. And all of what you stated can be fixed. Also, white mob stronger than a rare? Dude, show me that one :D I have never had a white mob ALONE without any rares from crucible, and while not channeling it further the white mobs that spawn barely survive any longer than normal white mobs. I can guarantee you: You MUST be making mistakes in terms of tree or items. Your feedback is just wrong since you haven´t really understood the build concept.
Honestly the title is pretty accurate. The minions themselves are fine but the hoops you have to jump through are predicated on build elements that don't really work.

Primarily the idea that a hybrid minion/selfcast build does any damage, when it doesn't - in PoE we have to hard focus one area. Dom blow, wolves and absolution all suffer for this because they have asinine spawn requirements that detract from the focus required to make the build succeed.

So they end up paying out the ass in opportunity cost for other mechanics to keep themselves active, this kinda guts them for HC too as you can never afford any defence while simultaneously jumping through said hoops.

The only circumstance where weird setup is OK IMO is cases like dancing dervish where once the blades are out they are reliably out except for very large gaps in monster density/boss phasing and you just require a mechanic to get them back out afterwards. Or Chains of Command where the hoops is actually the restricting value on the build and its a banger for solving said problem (wormjar mvp for both of these incidentally)

Personally I think dom blow, absolution and wolves should all simply spawn on their skill use regardless of target. Does that mean players might 4l them on a minion setup? Sure, but minion builds already do that with the others. Keep the element that they are tied to the skill but remove the high cost it takes to get them out in the first place.

Edit: Do note guys this isn't a statement about their efficacy, wolves suck except in the campaign where they are broken AF but Dom blow and Absolution dudes slap with the right setup once you get them all out. Especially with the Vaal versions.

Agreeing on the vaal versions. Absolute power oberload, so fun to leaguestart minions again.
Just in case anyone from the future stumbles across this absolute gem of unintended comedy while looking into Absolution as a build like I did, lemme throw this on here:

I've been testing an Absolution build (made by Ghazzy of all people, LOL) for next league start to focus more on bossing/essence, and the fact that the OP couldn't figure out how to scale some of the most bonkers budget single target damage I've seen to kill a single white mob (cruci buffed or not) is baffling. I'm testing in fresh SSF, and this ability positively SLAPS. While sometimes it takes 3-4 seconds of smacking a solo boss to get your sentinels up, once they are, it's GG. You get to just chill and dodge while the boss explodes. Mapping is a breeze, just pop the first couple of mobs to bring out your sentinels, then dash around alternating between one Absolution cast and a Convocation cast and everything around you just melts.

I'm completely flabbergasted that someone would complain about a lightning focused ability being scaled by the most reliable and cheap lightning scaler in the game in Doryani's, especially considering some of the numbers Ghazzy got outta the build exceeding 500 MILLION DPS on single target with a 20c uncorrupted unique chest armor equipped.

Don't be dissuaded by someone who played for two hours, completely missed the correct play patterns and got cranky, then made up a bunch of excuses to justify their nerd rage on a forum. Absolution is smooth, tanky, and absolutely CRANKS on single target. Check out the full build guide (made by the guy who supposedly won't even play the skill) on PoE Vault, you won't regret it.
Now imagine absolution without doryani's. Imagine trying to scale it with just minion nodes. It feels bad. Ggg could make it feel better. It us a little unfair to compare a mirror tier minion crafter and streamer with a random player.

Truth is most skills feel bad unless you know some weird combo of stats you need to feel good.
Again, I am playing on SSF without even being able to trade, and STILL cranking damage. Well into yellow maps on a scuffed 5 link and melting map bosses and rippy 5 essence elites. Doesn't even feel different in maps from Skellys, you're just casting Absolution on new packs instead of Summon Skeletons. Not sure where y'all are going wrong, but this build CERTAINLY doesn't suffer from low damage. I'd recommend looking through the scaling options again and comparing them to what you're using. A nicely rolled convoking wand, a +1 minion skill helm, and properly leveled skill gems/supports, and you're off to the races.
you re literally copying the solution done by someone else, one of the most knowledgeable minion player in the game who I've seen spend 1 week updating builds before league start on his bank of builds in pob and use an obscure item (for new players) that you probably didnt drop and buy on the market because you read it in the build and you re being arrogant about it ? do you even listen to yourself ?

edit : ok you re in ssf so you dropped it but still. wtf. people copying builds should really think twice before talking like that in the forum.
