So coming off the heels of the D4 Beta and massive Twitch Marketing, GGG presents...Crucible?

And GGG needing to give out a bunch of mystery boxes to streamers with the caveat that they open them on stream.

Not shady or worrisome at all.

Damn that happened?

Edit: not like a giveaway?

D4s beta was the only reason this league broke day 1 players. Hilarious watching people here still claim d4 won't have an impact on poe at all.
I thought exactly the same, ARPG interest spiked big time with D4 beta weekends, and definitely, many players carried over to check out PoE or returning players that skipped a few leagues (which were bad anyway).

I hated this league from day one, but going to play it a little longer since I won't care for their next league, D4 will grab a massive casual player pool away from PoE.
I honestly don't think GGG is capable to come up with a good league on a good patch. It seems a lot like their main objective is only to test and gather feedback for PoE 2 at this point. (Even though in past they've had many good/great leagues on good/decent patches).

While the new players won't personally grasp all the bad things about the league on their own, if they read forums or Reddit, they'll see all the negative feedback.

It's really hard to grasp that this is the quality of the league, patch, and even servers prior to D4 entering the competition. I am actually quite curious about the next league already, will they actually produce something of quality or it's just another beta-testing league? With D4 in competition for casual players, that's gonna hit them harder than ever, with the quality of past league/patches, likely the new record of the biggest player retention drop is on the horizon. Will they care though? Sometimes it's better to see through the vision and it's quite clear the vision is PoE 2 at this point.

Crucible is hiding under the other shitty leagues. That's all i'm gonna say.

The sole point of failure is hands down the idea that "haha an mobs so hard they 1 shot you haha look at how much SKILL this game takes!!" is what the designer is completely high on, and that mindset is utterly anathema to the general playerbase.
There are people on this forum that unironically think that because a rare takes five minutes to kill, that it is an engaging fight but it's just tedium and not fun usually.
I love Poe. It can be extremely fun with the fast pace combat it has and it runs so well and it's so smooth.

So I'm really looking forward to playing both games. I imagine they will stagger their leagues and that will boost players interest in both games
