Exploding Crystals feels like pre 3.0 volatile affixes...

as a meleeer, i do NOT rely on visual cues to deal with this. visual cues are BAD in poe.

the purple exploding crystals+ various purple stuff in harvest+a buttload of other mechanics is simply "invisible" when combined.

i rely solely on AUDIO cue.

if i hear the distinct sizzle, i dash. it doesnt matter where i dash, i dash. if i dash into an exploding crystal so be it.

i have given up the notion of leveling up past a certain point.

i died for the 3rd time in hardcore because of this mechanic, i'm done for the league i can't stand that an invisible mechanic kills you...
Soul eater, haste, and crystals need to be adjusted. I ran into a soul eater haste crystal magma barrier monster that did at least pob 220000 damage in .1 sec, I think. I couldn't tell what killed me between the explosions or 40 attacks per second. It could have been worse I guess.

I wouldn't know where to look to confirm this, unfortunately.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
Crystals is fine if you practice discipline with always be moving but its pretty dumb if you are melee and stand still that you just die even if you can tank the monster appropriately.

Its another mechanic just designed for ranged where you can see the purple tracer for when a crystal gets placed then spread them out appropriately. I'd love it if GGG just went overboard with some Z axis shit though and just made the effects stack ontop properly so they looked dumb but were really obvious.
I just want to add, it's extra exciting in Ruthless where you get to try and move away with no move skill and maybe 15% boots.

I cannot even imagine trying Ruthless HC with this mod. Well, I can imagine what it's like... I can't imagine staying in the league. Anti-fun.

I play HC 90% of the time. Its spells similar to this why i completely avoid builds that cover ground effects, MTX that covers ground effects. MTX is whatever, but not being able to play a build because of invisible ground effects is not acceptable. Honestly, i am not even sure why effects like instant volatiles lingered this long in the game, my only guess would be, game being balanced around SC with "you chose to play HC, now deal with it" attitude :D
