Objectively the worst league?

Every league is the worst league ever apparently, until the next league.

Things can and are still getting worse league's wise. Normal game seems better though.

I suppose that can be true for some people; but I think many are just trying to make a point through compounding hyperbole.
Thanks for all the fish!
Still not seeing any Bestiary defenders. Where y'at, Einharjar?
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Those of my friends that still play actually all switched to standard league. No one in my group of friends can stand the mechanic.

Einhar is love, Einhar is life.

But Bestiary League itself was god awful. ^^

I mean, I did say that I preferred Bestiary to Sanctum, though my experience was heavily influenced by Bestiary being my second league played. If Sanctum were my second league ever, I would probably have tried a variety of skills or play styles in order to get my bearings. Then again, I'm not sure I would have the patience to learn POE in its current state. There's just so many more things to know than four years ago.

Sanctum could probably be fun with 3-4 rooms per map. Currently 1 room per map is the worst. For people who cannot consistently go to floor 3-4..

Right now, to lose 15-16 maps because the game decided to force you in a room that will likely make you fail the sanctum is stupid.

It's not the worst, league mechanic but definitely not a good one for every type of player.

I actually like were this is going...Fail after Fail will end GGG streak of failures when d4 launches so :))

If this isn't the worst, what is?

Forgetting all about the actual gameplay mechanics, the simple overhead required to prepare to run the stupid room takes way too long proportional to running the actual content. (Oh, kinda like juiced mapping. But I digress.) This was a horrid design decision.

But invoking D4 vs. PoE... now that's fail. It seems to be popular right now but they're two completely different games. PoE took the crown of the genre known as ARPG and will not give it back. So blizz created a new genre you might as well just call diablo-themed. In one word: it looks slow. (Open world. So ... lots of time riding the horse. RDR wants its mechanic back.) In two words: slow and uninspired. No way D4 will ever come close to the depth and the labour-of-love feel of PoE. Regardless that they do make plenty of mistakes and consistently alienate huge groups of the playerbase, GGG does work harder on this than blizzard ever will. They alienate the playerbase just by being blizz. Changes will be slow to none, and updates (which of course you will pay for any good ones) will be infrequent. More to say on this (and i'll feel like repeating it) but what's the point? I'm going to try and restrain myself.

Bottom line, it will take impossible effort and a miracle for D4 to really affect PoE's playerbase, other than of course the initial launch peak. Heck, I was "so into" D2R I bought a mule copy. Didn't even make it to nightmare in 1st actual season, cuz it's boring and mechanically outdated af. Yet, here I am back at PoE. So go ahead, make another diablo game, if y'all want.

We can agree to disagree...Just because you think that POE is some kind of king of the genre is not backed up by either numbers or facts...It's just a supposition. Yes POE arguably is now the king of the hill mostly because the moguls of the industry have gone hunting for other genres. They just a the spot because no one else wanted it.

You really need to define miracle, as in this context it's likely compared to a popcorn bag. Heck all my friends that still like POE will switch to D4. And yea, considering this is a game were rarely people join, my 20 friends are a big number compared to the fact that new players rarely join on a new players per player base.

The hype for d2r was a hoax from the start, that was a milking cow fans of the series have been asked for...They got their fair share on both sides, "will d2r kill poe" was not even a thing.

So this is not a question of a miracle or not, it is a question of how long it will take for poe to start bleeding. Since Chris said that they don't need a large player base, they will survive with 40k-50k players that streamers can manage to hoard around in PoE. Which if what Chris Wilson is true will be enough for you to still enjoy some beta leagues.

They should practice more, and get a little better at it.

That's the easy, cheap response. I can faceroll the Sanctum with my Bane Scion, and it's still an incredibly boring experience - regardless of loot.

Having to throw out our own nets, after weakening an enemy but not killing them, and then those nets having multiple rarity tiers was nothing short of BRUTAL.

That said in Synthesis, the board game was released with a number of glitches. In fact for many weeks it was possible to brick the entire mechanic with a dead end lol. Not to mention the OG Synthesis crafting was as complicated and bizzare as anything they have done.

Finally Blight. When CW said the performance issues in Blight were because monsters lived "too long" I could only laugh. What a time to be alive when the dev decries the speed meta, but needs it because the game is poorly optimized.

So yea that's my top 3. Pokemon, A board game, and Tower Defense.

Honarable Mentions to Delve, mostly because of the character seeding "bug" that was discovered, and LoK which was amongst the most disappointing lore reveals combined with AN and loot obliteration.
