IS IT?!?!

In my opinion, hell yes.
I'm not sure why you're asking here, though. ''Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters.

The quick version? Yes and no, wish there was a demo. (well, there is the guest pass, if you can find one. Might be a starter pack too, though I'm not sure.)
Longer version? Let me list it up for you: - Graphics? People whine... I meay 'tell us in a grown-up, mature way' that the graphics are too light. Strangely, they also completely ignore the fact that Diablo 2 was set in places like a grassland, desert, jungle, a mountain and ice caves. All not very dark. - Classes? Mostly the same as in Diablo 2, only better. Sorceress? Gone, replaced by Wizard with more and better skills. Amazon? Gone, replaced by Demon Hunter. Amaazon had bow. Demon Hunter has a crossbow in -each- hand. More bows means more coolness. And that's a fact. :D - Skills? Instead of getting the last skill at lvl 30 and then spending levels 31 - 99 putting random points in them, we unlock skills the whole time up to lvl 60 (the highest level.) True, the last active skill is still lvl 30, but we get mods all the way up that changes the skills in different ways. No skill is truly better than the others, so you're free to choose whichever skill you want. Even better, you don't have to worry about picking the 'wrong' skill, either. You can simply swap them on the fly, even during fights. That allows a lot of experimentation and testing, so you can find the exact build you prefer instead of the 'best' one everyone else is using. - Story? Well... let's skip to the next point. Hehe. - Loot? You can go all the way through Inferno without finding a single Legendary item. Yet I found one in Act 2 on Normal. People whine and say Legendaries are bad, yet I put mine on at lvl 11 and are still using it at lvl 31. - Auction houses. Some say they ruin everything, as you can simply buy the best stuff there. Ignoring the fact someone has to actually find it first and put it up there for sale. I say it's a great way to boost your stats a bit if you really need to, but easy to ignore if you don't like them. Also, if you have three of four pieces of a set and can't find the last one, check the AH once in a while. It saves a lot of frustration. Besides, you don't have to find the final piece of the set three weeks after you don't need it anymore. - Difficulty? We breezed through Hell in Diablo 2, thinking we were gods. Now we reach Hell around very late levels, usually ending just around lvl 60. Then there's Inferno, starting at lvl 60 (the highest level.) - Online only. Well, is that really a problem these days? For some, yes, but you're posting in the Path of Exile-forum. An online game. ;) - Error 37 and disconnects? Was a big problem at first, but according to Blizzard, they sold around 3.5 -million- copies the first 24 hours. Not counting the people who got access to the game through the whole-year WoW subscription. In other words, around 4.7 million people tried to log on to the servers at the same time at launch. Of course that'll cause problems. It's much better now, so the errors are mostly gone. Not all of them, but there are work-arounds for most of the few still there. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but you get the idea. I can't say if the game is good or not for you, but a lot of people love it, and some people hate it. But now you should have an idea what it's all about. ;) "And that's how you die properly, sailor boy."

www.google.com: Type 'Diablo 3 review' in the search bar. And for advanced users, try the same at www.youtube.com.
Best of luck to you in making your decision, because we sure as hell shouldn't have to make it for you. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

" The graphics isn't the main problem of this game, it's the atmosphere. The atmosphere was absolutely darker in Diablo 2 and there's no way anyone can deny that. As far as the graphics go, they differ alot from the early Diablo games which isn't suprising since it's been eleven years till then. And it's not that Diablo looks "light" but because it looks cartoonish, drawn/painted which it shouldn't because it's supposed to be a game about killing demons and vile beasts and there's supposed to be gore all over the place. 11 years of waiting down the drain. The answer is 'no, not right now'.
That goes for most products, but D3 in particular has had a difficult launch and will get better in time. Also the price will get better in time as well. I would wait until the game is $30 and has been out for a while. There is no reason to jump in right at the get-go, particularly if you haven't already. You'll save yourself some headaches and a few dollars. If you have account problems please Email Support

I would not buy it as it is right now.
With that said, Blizzard games don't go down in price for at least a year or two. If you can't wait until then, then you should shove out that 60-70 bucks and get it over with. Me? I'm waiting for the crack. |

" This is like starting a thread asking, "Would I like Pizza?" Some people will say yes, some no, but neither can tell you accurately whether or not you're going to like it or not. Read the reviews or find someone that bought a hard copy of D3 that can give you a guest pass to try it out. There are more than enough D3 posts on here already to determine whether or not it sounds like a game you'd like. Having everyone repeat their views for the umpteenth time should persuade you one way or the other. We can't tell you what you like. Last edited by RWTD_Burn#0944 on May 25, 2012, 2:08:14 PM

" There won't be a 'crack'. At best they will create an emulated server, but I'm not sure how well their AI programming will be, nor their random quest generation, or side area generation... drop rates.. and many other things. Much of the way the game processes is on their servers, which can be guessed at, but not duplicated. So yeah, private servers will pop up, but there's no telling how authentic they will be.
