New MTX get more and more slippery into P2W... Slowly but surely

Exactly this.

Stash tabs are more "p2w" than all of this stuff put together, and they've been there for years.

You don't "pay to win", you pay for QOL, that's vastly different.

Yes and no

p2w has already had its start in poe ages ago indeed.
And the "what is p2w" debate is stupid anyway since an guy with a wallet will always argue he is not partaking in it until he litteraly buys OP Items.

Stash Tabs, 100% p2w in my eyes.
But game gotta get funded.
Its the least offensive one yet for me. One I can live with.

The new MTX are the first step where it effects actual gameplay.

An absolut no go for me and a clear sign of said slippery slope into p2w

which mtx are you referring to?
just curious because none of them affect gameplay in any way imo, they are just visual effects

Visual Effects that give gameplay related feedback or move the original indicator from the skill bar to the middle of the screen.

The Aurora Shield gives a clear feedback when you block.
There is no non payed way to see this as clearly.
The new Vaal ones and cooldown related ones are moving it from the skillbar to the middle of the screen. Letting you stay more focused.
Flask Uptime now in the middle of the screen way clearer as non paid

Overall, they are not that mayor.
But ever since these new MTX started, they add more and more that slightly alter gameplay.
Hence the Slippery Slope methapore I borrowed from chris himself for this (he meant trade).

Its a start of something I really hate to see happen

Blocking is an entirely passive effect. Knowing you blocked does nothing.
Flask Uptime is just about as pointless. Utility Flasks have visuals and life lasts 1.6s.

An argument can sorta be made for Endless Mana flasks but much like the CD visual I think it would get in the way more than help. Having this floating visual over you all the time.

The Vaal Skill ping remains the only valid argument I see.

What I'd most love to pay for is buying a version of PoE that I could play offline and it wouldn't change every few months. Heck, I'd pay $200 at least for a 3.18 version of PoE right now, for example.

stash tabs is the entire reason our currency cant stack.

the QoL being able to ctrl click stuff into our stash is much more than QoL, it's an entirely different experience compared to playing without premium tabs. the ability to easily trade is also a vast improvement to the game.

so yeah i would also say poe is actually p2w but as people would say "in an acceptable state".

as for the effects?

GGG should make "free" indicators more visible but i would argue its really QoL more than P2W. sure you get a visual indicator smack in the middle of the screen but you dont NEED it as much as stashes/affinity/trade
