Why is P.O.E and its community afraid of pick-up pets?

Auto-Loot: my only problem is if it makes bots worse. Outside that, its the same feels click/id on something or auto-pickup with casino sound effects.

They simply give it to all players - no more pay to win + they can sell a thousand pets for $20. It's like they don't want to make money ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Torchlights implementation is a good balance of both worlds, QOL more inventory space, timed selling vendor recipes without wasting time clicking around in town like D1 zzZZZ (Which you can still do anyway). It didn't feature auto-loot if that's a concern, just more inventory space and QOL vendoring items so you can keep enjoying the game instead of wasting time.

Im having a hard time understanding how a pet picking up stuff is P2W? Dumbest thing Ive ever heard on these forums.

People hate it because it would deprive them of the joy of picking up the 2 things per map that their loot filter doesn't hide.

Ive played POE since before the KIWI pet was given out. Your so right. Its like the LFG thing in wow "TAKES AWAY FROM PEOPLE TALKING".... No one talks in wow they are on their discord with friends.... Most i see in a run is TY for run lol.

Okay, so...I genuinely don't get what conclusion I'm supposed to draw from this. What is so obvious to you that going from an interesting question to 'exactly' as though you've already decided what my answer is makes any sense?

So pretend I'm not the smartest person this forum has ever seen, and yes I know that's asking a lot, and fill the gap for me please.

Because my answer would be: pretty pissed off. But since it didn't happen that way, and I can't conceive of it ever happening that way, I can't really see why it serves as a relevant hypothetical response to the proposal of a free pet that picks up items with potential paid skins. What does this have to do with the domestic PoE other than they DO have a paid pickup pet and, to my knowledge, no free version?

And I must confess, I don't pay any attention to arguments for or against QoL in ANY game if the foundation of that argument is 'it'll make life easier for cheaters'. That's a really bad stance for devs to take seriously, and a worse one for they themselves to take -- depriving your legitimate players of fairly common QoL because the people you're supposed to be stopping would benefit from it most is NOT a good look. Were any dev to admit that, it'd be a pretty stupid playerbase that didn't then rightfully accuse those devs of being at the mercy of botters and cheaters. Of avoiding making improvements to their game because of the very users they're supposed to be banning. A smart player base would hold such devs accountable and play something not held hostage by its cheaters.

There are games out there that will satisfy the needs of those who seek autolooting in games. Take Alien and Zombie Shooter (on GOG) for example. Those games focus purely on mawing down as many critters as possible. You start with a pistol and gradually obtain more weapons. Health and cash can be autolooted. Cash can be used at the end of each level to buy upgrades. There is no inventory. I would say: try it out!

Diablo 4 does the same. They are scared of cheating and that is why they didn't include free trading although it is a nice QOL to have.

Yeah, I can't think of any reason either why they teach game design and pay it so well.

It' so easy to ask on Reddit and this forum and just implement what players want.
