Alright, Resolve is not as bad...Update 2

I dont have problem with resolve at all. It's kinda fun mechanic cause you adapt to it and get better overall. My only problem lies in the fact that for sanctum areas and normal maps you have to have two builds basically. Nobody's gonna farm Sanctum with Juggernaut even tho its their main build. There is no resolve damage mitigation between having 0% and 90% armor or ele resists. That is what I hate. Sanctum league is made for dodge / speed builds that attack from distance. I was hoping that they would actually make this league more melee but it's forced for spell / archer / totem / trap builds, everything else but melee. It's kinda disappointing not because Sanctum mechanic which imo is great but the fact you have new melee vaal gems that you basically will ignore if you want to participate in Sanctum runs.
I would spread the damage more between health pool and resolve because now you get pretty much 0 damage to HP even though you have no resists and armor and the damage to resolve is ridiculous. I finished 2 floors already by the level 16 (I farmed 6 lvl Sanctums) and I must say it's fun. But not rewarding at all. The currency you drop in Sanctum is not usable imo in low levels at all. Because having slightly more resolve or buffs won't change anything at all.

so after alpha testing the league.. it's a worse version of lab + some attempt of forcing another genre into this game (flashback on blight league)

95% of my runs unrewarding and a complete waste of my time.. resolve as I expected a complete bait/trap to negate 99.9% of the game mechanics and plans.

Returning to poe in 3.27: ATROCIOUS game performance, 5/10 league and I apprently missed the loot back in the last league. The more things change the more they stay the same..
In the first and second tower you can go around the mini bosses in circles but in the third theres overlapping fire towers that cut your circle and mess you up, with an archer at the end of your spin, so with glacial hammer or heavy strike with lots of melee strike range you get slappppped.

Leagues not for melee but they felt they had to nerf it.

P.S UNNERFED smite is what melee should feel like, natural attack speed so u can at least land some hits in your spin and kite, with the base attack speed penalty you cant really win

Excuse me mate, but why do you start off saying you don't have a problem with it and then basically list off the problems you clearly do have with the mechanic? It's okay to say that they've done a bad job, because they did.
guessing so many posts about how unrewarding sanctum feels that GGG is removing those posts en mass. Thousands? Tens of thousands? wouldn't be surprised, everyone is saying Sanctum is bad, like the worse of all the leagues.

Stopped entering Sanctum completely. Nothing to do there. Hoping GGG will fix this yet another alpha-beta-testing league. Although if leagues didn't suck at the start then it wouldn't be classic!
In one Sanctum, I used something that gave me resolve back. That same thing (boon fountain whatever not sure) also reduced my total resolve by 150 so I ended up with less than before I used it.

I also am getting tired of getting sucked into the floor every time I don't notice the sanctum entrance lmao

Yeah I meant Sanctum mechanic, not resolve.
i got the feeling GGG balance resolve with the idea of perfect relics.

the mechanic is a pain in the rear specialy for melee but once the relic bonus start stacking it will be a bit less painfull.

still a horrible mechanic.

So Sanctum is supposed to be a rogue-like mechanic. But all rogue-likes reward you when you die or fail on a run, so as on your next attempt you can progress a little further. Sanctum on the other hand gives you nothing when you fail to kill the final boss in the collection of rooms. Which does not encourage players to continue to try.

If perhaps GGG introduced a buff that carries over after a failed attempt, something like take 10% less resolve damage for each failed attempt until successful, then eventually you would be able to clear a collection of rooms and get the rewards at the end that make Sanctum start to work like a rogue-like.

Still, it is one of the most poorly thought out mechanics I have ever seen in any game, and clearly shows zero understanding of good game design and mechanics, along with terrible, if not non-existent gameplay testing. Their current refusal to make small changes to balance their mistakes further illustrates GGG's stubborn neglect towards its player base.
