I suspect they're not going to balance this around high DPS and thus the title question is somewhat correct. However, the assumption here that it will be very difficult to maintain resolve with a normal build is unfounded. Yes, DPS will be a strong way to maintain resolve, but we don't yet know if that mechanic will even be difficult in the first place.

One thing to keep in mind is you'll have to defeat the boss at the end of the sanctum. That boss in high tier maps might have large damage so being a 2k life build might mean you breeze through it only to fail at the end. I'm still sure that damage mitigation such as fortify, armor, max res end up being better then scaling max life for sanctum.

As with any league mechanic, the first month is a beta test. I imagine it'll change. At least, I hope enough people dislike the resolve bullshit and it gets removed, or reworked, or replaced, but what we have now is just trash design for this sort of game; it might work in an actual rogue like/lite game.

Good! We already have game mechancis where you can have shit dps but omegatank (yes, Heist and others). It is alright to have a league that allows you to be a glass cannon. No need to QQ

Well, mobs still do damage. Resolve or no resolve, you can still die. And knowing GGG, the league mechanic is overtuned as always. And we still have the other 99% of the game to think about too.

Isn't that how you build on softcore, any way? What's the big deal? The league mechanic doesn't exist in a vacuum. You're not surviving on trash builds in hc.
