GGG: Ruthless is the future of Path of Exile.

It does not make a difference if it drops no loot or you filter out all loot because it is unusable trash by default.

For normal mode it would be good if there was less loot but ONLY if the drops are worth looking at.
OP is like:

I never played Ruthless my self. Barely tried SSF but Ruthless is sooo good it should be the new standard.

Would say wait when it's released with 3.20 so we have an honest and big pool of opinions of the actual matter.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks

Dear GGG,

I strongly suggest you make Ruthless the new normal in Path of Exile 2.

We all know you can't easily nerf, balance or make major changes to Path of Exile 1, because it's community immediately lashes out at you in ridiculous, immature tantrums.

Cool. A blanket "everyone who does not agree with me is immature"? Or can you elaborate? Don't you think this forum provides ample supply of both - the immature and ridiculous and the well thought out and useful feedback? I guess there are good reasons to want a harder game, just like there are good reasons to want an easier / less tedious one.

Besides, I personally would rate your post on those scales as "well thought out, but ridiculous", given that you would probably lose significantly more than half the player base.

People use filters because the game shower you with loot that is irrelevant is a game design problem not the player fault that ignore the clutter, if loot that was dropping was worth picking up people would stop and grab it, and not when they have no choice like in ruthless "beggars can't be choosers"

but yet again if they decide making all loot is worth it the game will end up being too easy to progress so is a dilemma, just have to make it balanced like only half decent which is enough still to progress the game, league mechanics like sentinel helped with this loot clutter as people use the dropped items as fodders which was a great alternative solution also a crafting option, or if they introduce a game system that break down useless gear into useful stuff that the character can use people will start to pick loot up.

Let's imagine that someone play trade league where all rares on the floor have 6 T1 rolls, every pack of monsters drop at least some alch. Will players pick up this? Or they will get full set of rares that they need, some stacks of alch and will start ignore it, because nobody need it, like nobody need wisdom or portal scrolls on current trade leagues? Than more valuable drop game gives, than more players will hide with filters and ignore.

Yes and is the same case in ruthless but is gonna take a longer time to get to the point of ignoring the loot because you already have your set completed so that would seam like it solved the problem at first but it didn't in the long run people will get to the point of ignoring some loot regardless, which i think applying a system that can recycle useless loot or transforming loot into other things would be an alternative solution beside vendoring to shards which is not as impactful later on in the game progression.

Edit: A solution also can be as an atlas passive like the one we have now that transform non-favorite maps into currency but this one would apply to specific loot like uninfluenced magic items for example

I agree with your guess at what impact it would have. I assume that he was just trolling?

What makes you think loot will be worthwhile?
99% of what drops now is crap, 99% of the heavily nerfed ruthless drops will likely be crap too.

Path of Exile/Chris' "vision" is 99.9% of shit that drops is literal shit.

If someone, that one guy, wants to find so few items that it takes weeks to accomplish stuff, more power to them, but 99.963% of the people that have dl the client do not want such a thing
I think that getting decent items in Ruthless will take LONGER but not be HARDER.

If people perceive LONGER as HARDER and have fun with that: ok. (As another optional mod it's fine.)

My time-limit is already reached (by far) with regular PoE.

Just a wild guess: most of the people that will play Ruthless will be from among the few people currently still playing PoE (the 5 to 9k). It won't attract many (if any) new players.
