GGG: Ruthless is the future of Path of Exile.
Dear GGG,
I strongly suggest you make Ruthless the new normal in Path of Exile 2. We all know you can't easily nerf, balance or make major changes to Path of Exile 1, because it's community immediately lashes out at you in ridiculous, immature tantrums. But if you make Ruthless the new normal in your next iteration... (as in make the gameplay challenging, the loot worthwhile and sparse, and the monster encounters fewer and more valuable) then, if things need to be tuned, you will have already set the standard high and can work down from there. I hope you find this suggestion valuable and an actual improvement to your wonderful game. Sincerely, A long time casual. What makes you think loot will be worthwhile?
99% of what drops now is crap, 99% of the heavily nerfed ruthless drops will likely be crap too. |

making Ruthless a new normal means ruthless changes to staffing levels at GGG because 'this game mode is not for everyone and it is ok' :)
i doubt they can afford that, esp when novelty of this mode wears off and people realize that game mode based around wasting your time for some artificial reason is not the greatest design |

" This dude really has no clue how bad it would be for the game and its longevity. Making an optional game mode is fine, but what you suggest would easily kill the IP. Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris. Last edited by Ydoum#5726 on Nov 26, 2022, 4:31:08 AM

" What drops is what drops - it can only be crap when you compare it to something else. And what is that something else? Well of course you mean comparing it to the items that you spent 5 minutes trading for. So while you're way off the mark here, you're actually also right on the mark in a funny way. The folks who are over-the-moon thrilled with how great item upgrades feel in Ruthless? When it gets released with proper trading, they're going to spend (more than 5 minutes) trading, and then eventually end up in the exact same place they find themselves in the normal trade leagues. Is this what they have been trying to do?
What is the value of my own life when it is taken from others so easily?

Easy mod players definitely don't know what they want from GGG. They want at the same time trade league not to rip too fast, but they hate when drop nerfs. They want play easiest mod where they can't lose and cry that it's not enougth hard.

" What this person said. In not one single statement did GGG state that "drops will be worthwhile", they mentioned that getting a decent drop will seem much more fulfilling. Pretty much how it is when they introduced SSF, every good item like a BIS exotic or rare and all your crafting will feel more fulfilling, but SSF also has absolutely no increase in drop numbers or drop quality. This is carried out through to the new Ruthless mode, but now not only do all the good items feel like an accomplishment, they stated that having a drop, any drop, will feel like an accomplishment, and to me that just sounds like self torture. |

It's time like this when you wish a time-machine had been invented.
