Is it hyperbole to say today's Manifesto might be the single most important one ever?
" Yeah I didnt imagine the offical AN post would release so soon after I created the thread. That's said the changes seem both reasonable, and logical. Smoothing out rewards, having recognizable modifiers, and removing the incentive for MF cullers are all really good adjustments. I didnt see too much on the negative side here... I also don't see the negatives, which is weird, because I'm the type of player who reads the jewels manifesto as all-nerfs.
I guess the mobs are getting nerfed together with us, this time around. Last edited by Xyel#0284 on Nov 16, 2022, 3:03:15 PM

Makes me wonder how they adjust the powerlevel with the new system. Most AN mods had like 5 different effects and AN rares could have how many AN mods? 6? So if they split mods down to their effects, does that mean we will now encounter rares with 20+ mods on them? Or will they cut down the power by like 80% to leave the number of mods the same? Can't really imagine them doing either.

" Number of mods from Twitter: We're currently playtesting the new monster mod system to determine this. At the moment it's 2-4, but this may change as we continue to iterate. Gutting Gameplay Gradually

" I would guess that the amount of modifiers will remain the same, resulting in a massive decrease of the power level of rare mobs. The bump in rare monster's power level was not a success by any metric imaginable, which GGG implicitly admits with this change. I mean, they are scrapping 3 leagues worth of development and balancing. One does not do that with something that's a success. | |

" Thanks for the info. Well that should remove pretty much all of the difficulty complaints people have been raising. Does get me slightly worried on the loot though. They reduced the number of rares with AN and gave them more multipliers so that each drops more loot. Depending on how they do it with the new system we might end up with a situation where we have AN numbers of rares with PRE AN loot drops which would make Kalandra look like loot paradise. |

" Well, let's hope GGG gets the loot right in 3.20. They know what happened when they got loot wrong last league. Gutting Gameplay Gradually Last edited by zakalwe55#2432 on Nov 16, 2022, 3:30:57 PM

I think it's good they are simplifying it some so you can respond more easily to the encounter rather than needing a quick reference guide for every mod. The one thing that has not changed is the build disabling mods and relative difficulty they pose. I think people will read too far into this and be disappointed when they see those things still intact.
I don't personally care either way because I experienced AN as a non-factor once your build got going, but I believe the anger with AN will remain because of those elements. Thanks for all the fish!
