We need a name for "non-ruthless", i.e. the core game without the Ruthless ruleset
" Can you back up this claim? I would be very interested to see it verified and justified by the devs given I don't recall them referring to the original, Diablo-inherited difficulty levels as modes. As I recalll it they "scrapped" the content-recycling stratification because they implemented the one and done ten act structure that somewhat more engagingly did the same job as repeating 3 or 4 acts with increasing difficulty: convey the character to the much more lucrative "and now we have your soul" endgame loop of Mapping. Those apt to congregate in act 3 merciless would then just do the same in act 10. Not that this matters once theyre Mapping and in their hideouts for the most part. There was never any economic disconnect in either scenario, at least not compared to the absolute severance from one league to another (HC failures notwithstanding). So if the devs felt otherwise, thatd be quite enlightening I think. Re +R not being like the beta: probably but you know as well as I that the message so far is that it wants to be. Go reread that press release style post. Nostalgia for that specific era greases every paragraph. So again, if you are right...they will have failed. Bummer.
