Mayhem sucks
I like a good challenge. I have played every Gauntlet since Expedition and had a blast every time. That's because Ziz knows how to make the game more challenging, but in a fair way. I never felt frustrated or that I had to "suck it up" playing a Gauntlet, even though Ziz has openly acknowledged that some of the mods were a bad idea. But it seems like GGG have not learned anything from the Gauntlet and what made it such a fun event.
But hey, they finally managed to make the game hard for racers and streamers, so mission accomplished, I guess. I'm sure they will just "suck up" the collateral damage. |

making a game just for the streamers / 30s clips is a great way to make a game nobody plays

I don't know I thought it was pretty damn fun from start to finish (I quit at the box threshold). Had a blast. Had some pretty hilarious deaths too.
If the twilight strand is too hard for you just wait a few and try again, the area mods are rotating hourly. Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

" I'm not gonna sit around for an hour witing for the mod rotation. That is the dumbest thing ever and just feeds into the frustration. The twilight strand just stands out because torment can make Hillock literally unkillable. But it's still doable if he gets possessed by only one ghost. Invasion on tidal island is what really did it for me. Getting swarmed by 2-3 bosses right at the entrance is BS. And the zone is so small you can't really run away from them. They even cranked down the early difficult of the Delirium event but went all-in with Mayhem. It just seems so out of place. |

Hell you talking about mayhem was awesome..
Too hard for sure but most fn this league for sure. Much better than ppopy lake |

" You don't have to sit around for an hour, just check back at the next hour (2pm, 3pm, 4pm, etc...). OR don't play intentionally hard events if you're not willing to adapt to them? It's literally called MAYHEM. Event name checks out... Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

Eh?
I'm sorry you guys aren't enjoying it, but I'm having a blast. I actually think the biggest problem with Mayhem is how bad it's going to feel playing through the campaign without it when the new league launches. |

Mayhem is annoying with all the density in early areas (forcing you to fight rather than run) but I'm surprised so many are finding it hard. I'm actually finding it so easy I keep getting bored each time I try to pick it up.
For Hillock on twilight, all you have to do is hit him ONCE, then start strafing around him till he swings and repeat. Do not try to get greedy and stand still for more than 1 hit. He goes down pretty fast still. As for why I think it's too easy--you can get so many rares and even uniques in Act 1 (strongboxes and exiles). Can farm harbingers for orbs of binding in Act 1 (I didn't even do this). If you have a half decent build (I'm not even playing anything close to meta), all those significantly better items means you pretty much faceroll everything. Just play something with a ton of damage from the get go and vendor recipe yourself some flat damage to spell weapons. Last edited by TemjinGold#1898 on Nov 5, 2022, 10:51:10 PM

" Someone clearly didn't have Hillock possessed by tormented spirits. Consider yourself lucky. |

Interesting. So they now added two passive mods on top of the RNG monsters combos?!
Yep. And again another means to keep players longer occupied till they get the GTFO box. Also player numbers seem pathetic at least on steam for the first event. Not much came back to play a recyled event. This also makes sense. Same old , same old is not gonna bring people back that quit league and wait for meaningful 3.20 changes. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Nov 6, 2022, 6:47:09 AM
