Sick of Diablo III so here I am.
Well with all the pre-purchases, the game has been funded for the foreseeable future. I think that some polish is on the way. GGG is pretty quiet recently, and that tells me they're hard at work preparing for Open Beta. I'm very anxious to see what surprises await us.

I don't know all the details but as far as I've heard D3 accounts getting hacked is the result of an oversight in D3's server communication that made a user's account information publicly retrievable. Getting hacked is no one's fault except for Blizzard. Forum Sheriff

dashgalaxy86: I definitely hope you're right ::- D. But feeding 15 people out of a few Diamond accounts and a bunch of lower tier ones can't be too easy. Hopefully GGG also have some angel investors looking over them ::- ).

Seems highly unlikely.
Everyone who gets account info stolen calls it being 'hacked'. Until there's an official word on this, I wouldn't really look too much into it. It's becoming more and more likely that there is a flaw either in their website session ID protection or via server sql injection attacks. I don't know, I'm pretty sure they are bound by law to warn people immediately when their servers have been compromised.

Just a tip. :) But anyway, I'm a big fan of Diablo 3 myself, and I had a lot of server problems, too. I got disconnected all the time for no apparent reason, and almost gave up. But strangely, I learned that if I joined a Public game and the General chat, it works fine. I once went from the middle of Act 1 to early Act 3 literally non-stop in a co-op game, ending at five in the morning. I was really tired and about to go to bed, but decided I just 'had' to give my monk the new legendary item I found (in Act 2 on Normal... hehe). I ended up taking her from the start of Act 1 all the way up to the start of Act 3 in co-op in one go. Hehe. Point is if you're struggling with disconnects, you might want to try a public game and joining the General chat. No idea, but it worked for me. :) "And that's how you die properly, sailor boy."

Because they didn't come forward with the information until much later. Same thing goes for most companies hit by hackers. Usually the process goes something like: 1. Find the issue... this can take time, meanwhile instead of shutting or locking down, which could cost a company millions, they just let things go on. 2. Can we cover it up and if we do, can we blame it on the user? 3. Disclose a milder version of what really happened until damage can be assessed. 4. Full disclosure if being caught is imminent. So even if they have to disclose, the speed with which they have to is often quite slow as they can always claim they weren't aware. I'm not sure of the sheer volume of reports though... if it's really a lot of people, then it's not a keylogger or anything of the like... at some point of magnitude it has to be automated to some significant degree. The likelihood of traditional logging would then be low, particularly if some of those coming forward aren't just kids, but instead adults in the industry. The release of a new game always sparks massive keylogging (and other stuff) attempts.
I have also seen sites that have a battle.net login screen almost identical to that of the real deal. Compromising your account info is not hard.
