Really drove it home to me when a friend playing a similar build to mine was talking about taking on shaper guardians. She was off for a few leagues and came back when I shared the announcement. (RIP that hype) We decided to play a similar build so we could gear share. She was worried that the fight was going to be hard because some of the mods on her map. (Inc aoe, speed, and damage minotaur) Judging by how squishy archnemesis made her feel. Ended up face tanking everything because rares have been power crept so hard it invalidates a lot of boss content. Of course saying that, GGG will probably just buff bosses again, and fail to buff the underperforming builds that were already struggling. Ignoring the fact we were/are playing meta builds with many divines worth of gear. Like being able to do content comfortably with enough investment is some sort of sin. It's depressing that's where my expectations are now... |

" Absolutely. No idea how you play this game without determination or stacking armor on item slots. I went to my 70% evasion 80% resistances ED trickster a few weeks ago, it was just popping left and right. Compared to a few years ago, when it almost never died. Just your average white mob can take 1/3 of your HP/ES in 1 hit. And on poe.ninja you do see exactly this, 70% of builds use determination... Molten shell is almost there also. Yeah i'm deliberately paying attention to it at the moment as GGG have somewhat forced me to but I go into maps with my current BA Elementalist pleb and I walk past packs and go, that was a death if I didn't kill them instantly, that was a death if i let that hit me etc.
The end result is I'm "outplaying" (loose term) 10+ deaths a map where a split seconds inattention would result in another character deleted in my immense graveyard of them. It really isn't very relaxing lol i'm used to the old playstyle of I can map semi-AFK and I pay attention when I have to, because that is what the drops in this game are balanced around. The only content I can compare this to is Heist. Heist has always been pretty dumb difficulty wise and it has every problem with rares possible forcing you to concentrate as you escape - and that is kinda fun. But it isn't when it goes on for hours. I'm so tired of dodging toxic's guys -_- so tired |

" I'm going to say the arch nemesis mods are terrible addition especially in side content. I've died plenty this league and the most of it literally was molten barrier spam. I don't care if it's only 1 i don't want to see that in tight narrow passages in Delves and in content that is clustered with enemies that dash skills can struggle to manage in. I also don't like ice walls either in side content. You're already dealing with much and you don't need this extra stuff just to make sure you will 100% die from with the right combination of arch nemesis mod enemies. Harold of Thunder is another that is just really bad. You get this in Delve even and it follows you the entire route with a huge difficulty to kill of the enemy that has it. Seen posts of a rare Arch nemesis with hasten vampyric and mana syphon. That's ridiculous. I couldn't imagine it if you got Vampyric, mana syphon and drought. You get a lot of dumb mod combinations like that that just makes them impossible to kill or makes them nuke you. There was also someone who stated doing 100 hours on uber bosses and only obtaining 2 notable uniques and they quit the league for it. They were a player with like 50 supporter packs on their posts and pretty much almost every achievement. A hardcore supporter and player that just dropped it due to the ridiculous nerfs this league and they mentioned much more then loot just being the issues. " It has been such a massive shift. Anyone else remember when content had its own identity? Like I'm not going to run this because my build is kind of weak to big phys hits, or I'll get a carry for that boss because it does heavy chaos damage and I have no room for the extra resistance. Archnemesis pushes all defenses to the maximum in all content, severely limiting what kind of builds people find comfortable to play. It totally killed the excitement of build exploration for me. I don't want to beta test new skills anymore, I just want a build that can reliably do content. That means giving up most if not all of your reservation for defensive auras and investing heavily in defenses on gear and on the tree. Leaving you with little to invest in your skills, so only the strongest skills survive. Until they inevitably get nerfed of course. In terms of freedom and agency, it's like going from casual kitchen table games in Magic the gathering to a standard competitive format. Most of it is solved early on. Except these formats don't co-exist here, we've lost what a lot of people found enjoyable about the game for what feels like next to nothing in return. |

i think im done with the league.
not going for mf is a massive waste of time. I dont know how exactly this item rarity function works on currency, what thresholds are for chaos to turn into divine, but seeing mf cullers drop several divines seems they have enough rarity. This mf is probably a lot worse than 40% increase rarity resulting in 40% more defeated mobs (not even talking about loot goblins), because if chaos turns to divine, divine is smth 180 times, TIMES, more valuable meaning otherwise you would need to run 180 maps/an/or_whatever to get same reward. So its mandatory now to have mf and good mf builds are horrendous and not diverse. Other than fully speced mf builds, this change added another build dimension players need to invest to, meaning this adds more stress to build, meaning only meta powerfull builds can really afford this, meaning more dead build diversity. It is also likely that future drops will be balanced around high mf geared values. And then we have this loot goblin stuff. Dont know, i might do mf build on standard to hoard divines before its butchered. |

73 divines dropping
This is what the game has become? A stack of 10 raw exalts dropping in 3.18 would have been front page news throughout the community. At least the old MF groups were injecting items into the economy for people to aspire towards. Now these groups just have free wealth to exploit the extremely small and fragile economy. Anything worth a damn is being severely price fixed because there are 5-10x less copies items than there were at the same point last league. I have zero aspirational content to look towards this league, my limited economy based goals are out of reach without engaging in degenerate strategies I don't find enjoyable. And I find the new loot distribution extremely samey and boring regardless of atlas strategy. The spikey nature of loot makes large portions of the farm feel like a waste of time. I'm tired of these artificial lootsplosions that offer little of value. And everytime somethiglng of value does finally drop its less exciting than it is slightly relieving. The game just doesn't feel rewarding to play anymore once you're done progressing the atlas. There aren't any meaningful incremental goals to work towards, everything is pure RNG, from wether investing into your maps is actually going to pay back what you put in, to if your crafting upgrade is going to totally brick and you'll have to start from scratch. The game doesn't respect my time as a player, and it feels like GGG no longer respects our feedback. If pillars of the community who have represented the game over the years, creating promotional content for GGG, interviewing devs, helping others by creating resources, tools, guides. If these people can't even get through, what chance do we have of getting our message across? The game has serious issues and it feels like no one really cares anymore.
