Latency/Lag Spikes MEGA Thread
I have been seeing a lot of individual threads regarding High latency and lag spikes on multiple servers so I thought I would try to lead everyone to post in a single thread to make it easier on the mods.
Latency issues are typical in the first few weeks of a new league, but this time seems a bit worse than usual. I live in Texas and it spikes between 15ms to 300ms to a complete timeout. Washington server is a little better, but still bad and California is the same as Washington. I imagine because even connecting to those other two, our signal is still traveling through Texas lines. Hi guys, I am in the Netherlands and I don't have latency issues due to the fact that I am lucky to be almost in the middle of the London, Paris and Frankfurt servers so I suppose I am spoiled for choice, best I ever got was from the Amsterdam server but that seems to have mysteriously disappeared, all I see now is a ? next ti it, as of yet nobody from GGG seems to be interested in speaking out on the subject though. Maybe they could use some of the money from the scam known as Kirac's vault pass to update all the servers?

How does exactly technical support works here anyway?
A week or so ago I created a post about having a constant latency spikes from the beginning of the league, some guy told me that's a problem on GGGs side and, like, that's about it? I have to move on or what? I decided to make sure that's not the problem on my side so I sent winMTR results to my ISP and they changed routing to GGGs servers but it didn't help. |

There is no tech support from GGG. I told you that in your thread. *We* are the only tech support we have.
And a Mega thread is pretty much a useless idea. Just because you have lag, and someone somewhere else has lag on the other side of the world, doesn't mean it's the same issue on GGG's end, far from it. The factors that go into what is going on is ludicrous at best. That is why we ask for a MTR, and that is why GGG does (did, when they did tech support). You have NO IDEA what the issue is and just generally blaming GGG or anyone else, doesn't help without data to back it up. Hint: RUN THE MTR. As far as GGG may be able to see, everything is fine according to their Provider - and GGG sure as shit can't see our connections either. Hint: RUN THE MTR. And another reason these mega threads are useless. How long do you think it will take for anyone to go insane trying to help 3/5/10/15 people in a thread like this? How long before people get lost in the shuffle of replies flying back and forth. Yeah, no thanks. Have fun with that. Leading people to a thread such as this is a bad idea unless you are going to sit here and help everyone in it. same issue here in PA, no matter which server i choose, the issue is their own servers, prob getting soft ddosed or some shit i can only expect. at first i also thought it was myself or my isp then i find this and keep hearing others so id thought id check. Low and behold apparently this is an issue for many and it seems like no fix is in the works nor any comments. Sad
reminds me of the days when WoW was getting ddosed which is why i said soft ddos btw i just realized why its prob happening, prob more querys from the website trade linking more closely with the game so they end up DDosing themselves LMFAO. if this is true would be hilarious. just give us our own expedition ppl we can toss our gear on and ppl can visit to purchase from... a pseudo auction house we can be offline for, that way ppl still visit hideouts and buy the hideout mtx out of jealousy which is the only reason your not doing a auction house Last edited by beezlbub#1660 on Sep 6, 2022, 7:54:47 PM

Singapore server.
The map instances are weirdly configured on GGG's end. I can have 30ms in hideout, then enter a map and have 250ms. If I leave and re-enter the map, my latency is 30ms again. In-map latency seems to be random and seems taking different portals will give you different latency, for the exact same instance/map. |

" Same issue, tried both Singapore and Milan server and same issue. Seems to spike especially when mobs are encountered/generated which require server side processing. Tried running ping in CMD which Milan allows but not Singapore, and I saw no lag spikes. So it looks like a server side issue. For clarification, I know that map/instance when created stays on the server regardless if u logout and switch servers. Also, it seems to be happening since yesterday (6th September), was fine on the 5th (+5 GMT). Last edited by Akavuuh#1564 on Sep 7, 2022, 4:19:08 AM

Can see ping running in CMD for Milan server and no significant lag, and the game spiking when I encountered a pack and normalizing when my totems killed them.
