One thing I just cant understand are the one shots.

I cant wrap my head around why GGG insists on having one shots in the game.
Im not talking about your average 3k HP rats nest build getting one shot. Im also not talking about telegraphed boss one shots with a long wind up time. Im talking about balancing the game in a way that its impossible to make a build that 100% can avoid one shots in maps against rares and in some cases even white monsters in high tier maps. Other arpg's try to whittle you down if you build just a bit tanky. Its balanced so you cant out sustain enemies forever or theirs a point where you reach the limit of how many monsters you can tank. In PoE it doesnt matter you are basicaly either 100% immortal or get one shot most of the time. I played some extremly tanky builds over the years and it seriously doesnt matter how much effective HP you have a random one shot will kill you eventually. Is it really so hard to understand that if you "balance" the game like that it means that going full glass canon full dps is always the best option? Why is it so hard to implement tanking into PoE like other arpg's have with managing cooldowns and getting overwhelmed if you tank to long? The famous one shot boogyman is a pretty funny thing on these forums. Is there video evidence? Is there a detailed description of what actually happened? Afraid of it being completely obvious it was a player skill issue? Doesn't matter! Just claim that everyone everywhere is being constantly one shot and it was totally unavoidable.

" The White Knight gallops in! Lance glistening in the sun! Take that ye dogs! Back to the shadows! The fair GGG retains her virtue for another day. |

" Any uh... anything to refute what i just said? |

" We dont have a death log. So you are 100% right. |

1. One shots are the only way to kill us. They would have to repair the broken recovery first and then limit the amount of monsters on maps by 90% to fix it. How else would you die if you can recover your whole HP within 0.1s?
2. Deathlog is simply dumb idea. There is to many factors to display, dots, curses, ground effects, on death effects, flasks, unique items etc. On top of that its pointless. You wouldnt prevent that death anyway. If you could get better defnses you would already have them. You already had the best items you could have and the circumstances of your death may never happen again. |

" So just play dumb & enjoy it?? That's asinine. POE has the most min-maxing of any game I've ever played. It screams for a Death Log to facilitate builds. It wouldn't hurt anything, & GGG is lazy for not implementing one. |

I don't think GGG is lazy.
Ok there are some problems with all the damage factors in PoE. And to protocol even the greatest part of them would lower performance. But I think the real reason is: Players would see how huge some incoming damage is. Some players can reach very big dps - but some monsters too. |
