Is PoE a good Game for new Players?

Thank you for remembering me to quit the Game.
Very constructive.

I say that it is never too late to start playing, especially if you want to reach some level of knowledge about the game.
I have been playing since 2012. I made my first 6l chest after two years and I considered it a big progress in the game.
I don't really know what your expectations and wishes are from the game.
PoE was good for newbs at 3.13

Now its opposite.
its good if they just want to play the 10 acts...after that, no. even in white tier 1 maps you notice the difficulty change right away. there is no info or help in game. new players would need to watch youtube guides etc
For truly new players it's probably as good a time as any to start. While the low drops are obvious to vets even in the campaign, there's enough loot to play non-end game content.
New players aren't going to blow through the campaign in a mad rush to maps the way vets do. The league specific content is fairly straightforward so it's not going to cause much confusion past the already complex systems.
The biggest problem for new players is the current frustration in the community which added to an already complex game may make them gun shy.
When I start playing POE I did 2 leagues with no guides, testing everything, exploring, and was very fun.

Once I start checking guides and understanding the game, the fun part has reduced, and replaced with frustration.

POE is like metal music, not for everyone, and less chances to be on radio.
My biggest concern beyond accumulated knowledge is how punishing some people have said early acts are.

I can't say yay or nay on it as I have played for years with the exception of maybe brutus, but I have seen a lot of people indicate the early acts can be pretty rough. I will say brutus is definitely more of a fight than before they changed him.

It all depends on what a player is expecting when they boot up POE3. If they are looking for something light, the game does not really reflect that at the moment.

I already played Diablo 2 when the patch was 1.08 so I had some experience when I first tried PoE when it came to the consoles.
First season I played super casually and only made it to red maps, mainly because I was not fully drawn in yet. Still I learned something every time I played. So yeah the game is,, or rather was good for new players. But these days I would only suggest it to people I dislike.
Depends on the new player, and what kind of player he is.

If he's just looking for a light, casual experience, picking up a random free game on Steam, he's probably going to have a bad time.

If the new player is looking to sink some hours, wanting an in-depth experience, and wanting to learn and seek knowledge, he may have a better time.

People always define "new players" as a newborn kitten when they talk about how "new player friendly" PoE is. And while PoE may not be your standard "holding your hand" kind of game with a rather screwed difficulty curve, some "new players" are actually seeking a non-holding hands experience.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
Probably not. Way too much bloat and mechanics to learn. over 1000 unique. etc just wiki is like 100,000 pages now.

People like mathil and many others prove you dont need meta but better have a walking encyclopedia knowledge like he has to do so or you're fucked in maps

Then the acts seem much harder these days - have to put noobs off.

Then time. Obviously takes 10x longer to beat everything than like 1.0 where act 3 dom was last boss and a few lvl 78 maps. Not everyone has this time. I've been here since 1.0 and can BYO and know game decently but time is a big problem for me now even with that advantage. Imagine noobs
Git R Dun!
