What am I missing?

Below are my stats, but I still get 1-shotted in t14 maps. It'll be hard to squeeze in more HP without significantly losing damage.

Feels like damage mitigation is bugged, or not reducing. My def is around 40k with flasks 99% of time.

You seem pretty tanky to me for T14 content. Are you able to get more ES even at the cost of Life? If you are Pious Path, you'd benefit from more ES. Also, do you have life/es on block for your shield?
Yeah, I don't know. This game is getting weirder and weirder.
The currently popular RF variants have great survivability, but there are definitely some caveats.

For example, one of the deadliest maps I ran was a t10 synth where the crit chance and multiplier was buffed. Even after switching to something "safer" I couldn't finish.

More importantly, you still have to be very mindful of particular map mods. Reduced recovery, less effective auras, no regen, crit chance/multiplier all can pop your bubble under the right circumstance.

However, also to give you some food for thought, I could pop unexpectedly never seeing what got me, like a nasty crit that chained or something, particularly in heist. I'd run several carefree, then sooner or later on the escape of one he's just dead with no clear reason why.

Fair. I have 60% crit dmg reduction, and on crit maps use soul of solaris. This game is quite possibly harder than it ever was before.
The reduced recovery and reduced aura effectiveness are the ones that you usually have to worry about more because they wouldn't normally be something you worry about in most builds.

Since RF is all about the regen and mitigating the dot, having the aura's reduced means less damage mitigated and less recov severely reduces the regen.

But yeah, its a lot harder than it used to be, all because they're set on these archnem mods despite giving no consideration on how they'd drastically effect the base game and currently existing league content.

In addition to other comments, don't forget to be very careful with your Eldritch Altar choices. They can screw you over really badly if you're not. And if you happen to have Wrath of the Cosmos taken on the Atlas tree, that can make mapping very dangerous very quickly once you start hitting Altars.

I do indeed, but I feel like I should still be able to effortlessly facetank t16 content with my defenses. If not, 99% of players are screwed.

That's a part of my frustration. If 89-90% elemental res, 75-76 chaos res, 72-76 block and 24-28 spell block with decent armor and ailment immunity and solid regen can still run into deadly things, how is anything else gonna fare?

I probably would have been more forgiving towards this league, but they felt needing to stack 5 auras, a ton of resists and extra armor wasn't enough "investment" into defense. Took at least one aura out of the picture, reduced armor from determination, made all future meldings incur a max res penalty and decided to nerf loot but buff the archnem again.

But yeah, best my RF made was the 29th wave of simulacrum, and the lack of damage from all the extra survivability (which still wasn't enough). So they decided to make it worse by forcing us to face archnem early on with no gear in story when it already gave them so much trouble in sentinel.

The loot may have been stood out in all the backlash but archnem has been the root of the problem ever since they sent it core. Like that meteor one can be especially deadly to RF since the screen is covered in so much you might end up eating too many stacks and pop before you even know what happened, same with the lightning mirages since you may not even hear them.

Totally agree. I play the game muted. The only sound enabled is loot filter, and private messages, albeit quietly. Chris probably just wants us to git gud.
