What Happened with Items
This is so bad it's funny :).
You managed to destroy the game is one single patch, that must be some sort of Gunniess Book worthy record. Guys, the philosophy is very simple: play the game-> get loot juice the game-> get more loot juice the game, play in party with MF-> get an absurd amount of loot Simple, right? That's what people want - we don't stand around in maps reading rare mob modifiers and planning strategies on how to fight them, that's dumb. |

If you have made a "Hard Mode" version of the game for yourselves that you are experimenting with, and if you like 3.19 yourselves too as "you want it", how about that also be made a stand-alone version outside the official PoE?
It's time you listen to the players and the community and we loved 3.13, 3.17, 3.18, so make the game anything like that and the community will be HAPPY. Listen to us and do your stand alone projects on your off side. Best way to discover colors for your loot filter

Chris,
One other suggestion that I suspect may be a problem for you, judging by the outcomes you keep getting repeatedly. Get rid of the obsequious ass kissers that tell you what you want to hear as code freeze deadlines loom. Hire people that aren't afraid to tell you your shit stinks, anyone else is useless. What happens to you is very reminiscent of what happens when a manager is told what he wants to hear from his subordinates, not the actual truth...There are usually only two reasons for this, ironically they are diametrically opposed, fear and love. So, unless your wife/girlfriend is your QA team lead, my guess is fear. Last edited by ZazenSatori#5858 on Aug 26, 2022, 3:05:04 PM

Feels a lot like the entirety of this post is, "We have so much bloat in this game, the only solution we could think of was AN, so we're going to continue to triple down on this. Look at this one guy who dropped 50 divines in a single go! It's great design!"
Ultimately, they have no clue how to reign in the bloat they've created, and their solution was a poorly conceived rare monster "buff". Reworked now means nerfed. The internal QA teams are clearly measuring the wrong things - otherwise SOMEONE would have noticed this. |

While you are making hardmode can you also make a fun mode? would be lovely

If you really read and care about feedback, here's mine.
I like mapping. I don't MF, I simply don't like that playstyle. I also don't do heist, again, because I simply don't like it. What's left for me, is t14-16 maps, atlas + scarabs + sextants, rolling for good quant and corrupting. A steady and solid influx of currency is what I'm after. A from time to time burst of currency is nice of course, such as pure big drops, but not mandatory. I can just liquidate the masses of currency I get when it piles up. To this point, I've had a couple divine drops since start, been playing a decent amount. The problem is, that a couple divines don't save the situation, when there's no other currency piling up to actually swap into chaos and then, when needed, divines. Meaning, that, for me and players like me, who do not MF or group farm, but simply set their atlas up, prepare their preferred maps, farm up and buy scarabs and sextants, to then run them as their own juiced content, is miserably unprofitable, unless you hit the big AN combos, which, of course, is unreliable, and I haven't even seen one yet, OR my rarity is not at the point where those mobs drop masses of currency. Which again, forces the MF playstyle, which I dislike. There's actually very few 'HOLY S*IT' mass drop moments. As some of them are interesting combinations, but all in all, worthless. A bunch of unique jewels is very nice, but of course, they're all useless 1 alchs. And other combinations, like fractured t1-7 maps or whatever. Knowing that I simply have to grind until I actually hit a "WOW" monster that is supposed to then improve my morale to continue the grind and find the next one just like it or better, pushes me away from the game. Because I feel like even if I find that monster, that will drop me a few divines at once, so what? The overall profit I could've made just from bubblegum currency, plus the occasional pure big hits, would be much better than this unicorn I'm supposed to be chasing. And no, I am not comparing to sentinel. It was completely busted and made the financial side of the game trivial. I have no incentive to continue farming completely empty, currency wise, red maps, that net me a few chaos each, while 'chasing the unicorn', that isn't even going to be that good for me, since I am not juicing rarity. I will be honest about why I am even still playing - wanted to try out sunder, also new to berserker. New stuff and all that. But this empty, unrewarding, demoralizing and disrespectful to my time, grind, is not why I play Path Of Exile. This game, to me, is... every map is a lawn, and I'm the lawnmower. When I come through, the grass (bubblegum currency and whatnot) comes out. I then go back to collect what I need/want, and leave, to then repeat this process over and over. THAT is a satisfying, rewarding, and fun grind. THAT is what I loved about Path Of Exile, when I started playing it. You give us the occasional challenging monster in the map, in the form of AN rares? If they're not hypertank, oneshotting, busted leviathans, like they are now, I am not just onboard, I'll row! I'd imagine them more like the rogue exiles, creative, trapping and kiting b*stards, slowing and slamming for big damage, or walling and casting on top of you. Sort of a 'pvp' encounter, if you will. Right now they're just.. No. To finish off this massive reply, I also have this to add - I only play melee, imagine how you guys make me feel, after I grind myself through the 'lovely' gameplay of this archetype, and then get hit in the gut by this... situation. If this doesn't change, and I'll still be forced to chase the unicorn through empty maps, losing currency along the way, where I should be gaining it, I will not play Path Of Exile anymore, not this league, not the next, not PoE2. There has to be fun, reward and good balance for different grinding strategies, and character archetypes. Pardon the long reply, but no TLDR here, want to read it - do so, if not - don't. |
