Buying a new laptop: what do I need for PoE?

As the title says. I want to clarify that I'm a digital noob so I have no clue about anything. Please explain in the simplest and clearest words what the important things are to consider.

i play on a Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop....had it since 2018 and never had issues running poe on it.

PoE is tricky. While on my high end gaming laptop (way more then 1000 bucks) the game runs solid with max settings and locked 60 fps its also a game that shreds through your hardware. Dont know why…

I'm playing on Lenovo Legion and it runs fairly well. Not comparably to a PC, but well enough to be fun.

Why would u as a serious gamer ever consider getting a laptop. Tower PC, problem solved.

I would prefer a tower (sure its always the more powerful and cooled option) but in my case, I have to move around (more then one place to live at) and so a gaming laptop is the only thing that makes sense for me. Poe pretty much requires a ssd a good graphics card and a good cpu or computer chip to run smoothly. With that said pretty much anything you get nowadays will be good enough to run poe on low settings.
Most gaming laptops at the price range are all the same unless you get scammed. One thing to make sure you have for a poe laptop is good cooling because the game will run fairly hot on a laptop. So I would check to see that the laptop actually has cooling vents on the side. I also agree with other people who said get a regular pc tower instead of a laptop unless you can't help it. |
