Buying a new laptop: what do I need for PoE?

I mean you can always just check models on YouTube if it's a certain CPU/GPU setup.

If it's running recent PC games at 60fps on max settings you should be fine. You just play POE on its lowest settings anyway. CPU with the most cores you can get. 3050/3060 GPU. 16GB Ram (get high-speed ram if you go ryzen).

Again you can just check on YouTube to try and judge yourself.

I was running POE on a 3100 ryzen and an AMD 570 8GB for a year and a half. Not a laptop but I had no issues at all with it.

Always remember POE can tank even the latest and greatest PC setups.
I play Planetside 2 & POE, both are 10 year old games. & they prioritize cpu more than gpu.

Just make sure you have plenty of ram & a 10k or 11k series I-5. Skip I-7. & get a I-9.

My laptop has 8gb ram, suggest get more. Has reached 120 fps before. Tho usually stays at 60 to 90. Obviously parties lower fps some.

Tho really the worst thing for the pc isn't even party spell spam. It's the loot name button. When the map is filled with loot. If you turn on the name filter it freezes some mid or lower ranked pc's. Only if the map is filled with 100's of loot.

Tho since your pc is new it should be okay if you have over 8gb ram. Or a better gpu then mine which is 1050 TI. Tho still besides too many items for the item name button, everything else is okay.

For longevity the fan for laptops seems underlooked. Many laptops aren't able to replace ram or fans later so pick wisely. Most laptop fans aren't for game clients. Even if the laptop is titled a gamer laptop. They simple are giving you office notebook worthy fans.

So get a laptop with 16 to 30gb ram, I-5 or I-9 10k or 11k series, & a strong laptop fan known to last for 4 years without replacement.

100 people towns with hang out fields. Witcher taverns. Free hair style options. IRO War of Emperium gvg map.

All the PCs (tower and laptops) that I played PoE on over the years (from Rampage league, up to Beastiary) couldn't handle PoE. It revved the PC fans to max, skyrocketed temps, and burned them out.

That was one (of many) reasons I stopped playing PoE. And when it did the same to my PS4 when I first ran it, I decided I didn't want to ruin my gaming system too.

If they ever come out with a PC friendly engine that won't chew through the hardware... I'd be willing to poke my head in once in a while to see what's new. Though, I don't think I'll ever seriously play this game again. (too many changes and hard-headed stubborn non-changes for me to ever "like" the game, despite so many of the features being things I've always wanted to see in games... just soo many downsides to it, that it's not worth it.)
an SSD
I do not know how you can carry laptop but small computer is issue so I will present you alternative.

You could fit this and display in to laptop case.
And battery does not matter because no laptop in existence will run PoE for more than 15minutes before shutting down on high settings, I doubt you will do many Maven runs in that time limit.

Even tesla's battery would melt after 10 minutes of 100% delirious scarabed t16 map.

You can build it yourself, have the most optimal parts for your budget and reach higher performance. It will also not suffer from overheating issues like all laptops do which tanks the performance so much that high-end laptop reaches performance of low-end tower.

I mean sure, if you just move with no car ALL THE TIME do go for laptop. But if you are just moving between home, second home, school room once per week do at least consider small computer tower.

Honestly when it comes to laptops 1000 is low-budget(i know it is kind of crazy)
but it is what it is.

Even something that sounds good like Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop

, 15.6" FHD, 120 HZ, Intel Core i7-10750H Processor, 8GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti, Windows 10, 82AU00CGUS that currently
999$ at newegg

Has horrible specs. 8gb ram in 2022? This is not 2014. That is maybe good to run lightweight linux distro and play castle wolfenstain from 1981.

For same budget you can run 32gb in small tower. 1060ti is nothing to sing about but good enough for PoE and i7-10750H is so bad that ryzen 2700x which goes anywhere from 70 dollars up (i got my for 85 dollars 2 years ago) atm beats it and that is many generations old cpu.

You can also build your own laptop but I would not recommend it :D

I'm not forcing you in to being caveman that simulates lan-party style computing from 2002. Just know there might be alternative.

You might also enjoy used laptop for school under 200$ and full tower for home for 800$ if you care about modern gaming only in one of these places you can even snipe thinkpad for 50$ install ubuntu and play olden games on it.

and how much u paid for it?

@op if u want a good advice, u need to tell more parameters like which games u want to play beside poe, if u want to work with it or do graphics applications.
how often are u away to play with the laptop, maybe a desktop pc is a better solution?

a good computer forum is a better option to discuss what u need. u will save money, have more fun and the laptop (desktop pc) lasts longer.
