Lake of Kalandra seems pretty underwhelming.

Sumfight raises a good point everyone else seems to be skipping over this thread, and that's plot. I mean, I know this is an ARPG, and it's nice to have great visuals as well as interesting, in-depth mechanics to interact with come new league time, but it is also nice, just from time to time, for them to actually work on the lore of the world you're playing/exploring in, and given that a) this expansion is named after one of the more iconic names in the game, and b) they've pretty much said this league has a tonne of plot written into it, I'm willing to cut them quite a lot of slack if the visuals look a little generic going in. Can only get so much per league, and while it may not have been exactly what you were hoping for, I for one am keen to see what they've done (much more than I have been for the last few leagues anyway).
(Also, on a side note, I actually quite like the look of the RNG loot mechanic this league, but do totally get that it won't be everyone's cup of tea...) |

you can with the mirror thing get 6 ring/amulet affixes, from t3 to t1 affixes depending on the price you re willing to pay. and if you find a build that uses negatives affixes it s even stronger.
how many people have 6 ring affixes on their gear seriously ? and yes that probably involves scanning trading site or identifying a lot of rare ring/amulets to find a good candidate or just essence or chaos spam or whatever technique you can come up with |

Gotta agree that the ground didn't look too interesting with those hexagons or w/e they were.

It would be a loot cooler if it were just you in the lake with your reflected self and the boundaries being the shores of a mountain, plains, w/e (because you're in a lake). Monsters rising from the lake reflect to fight you.
And what we got is a flying lady with octagons on the floor. Yay. Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].

Underwhelming compared to what?
Scourge (Breach 3.0)? Sentinel (Reverse Torment)? Metamorph (Black stuff)? Ritual (Whatever that was)? Ultimatum (The better Ritual)? Most league this past year have been pretty lack luster. One of the best, Heist got cremated by the community despite excellent characters, voice acting, story and be it flawed concepts. If people can still complain about that high production league then I'd just hand out generic revamps too. I couldn't even bring myself to play Sentinel for 2 days. A lot of people don't seem to mind (or notice) that whole League mechanic is doing older League mechanics. Interesting.

new mechanic looks like a mobile game and it's all repackaged old leagues this game is a joke now

New league looks like a worse Synthesis. What automatically makes it second best league in PoE history, kinda. At the same time it confirms that sadly Synthesis will never be properly reworked, but at least it is something.
As for filler of the dungeon, it's nothing new, yeah. But it was always like that - "new" league means 95% old loot, handful of new monsters and maybe new area. Not much changed, so what is the problem? You think Delve is different? Hardly new tilesets, couple of actually new drops and some blue spiders. |

" Cant say I've read a lot of the lore but the little i do know is a big reason why i play the game and obsess over it so much, Its important that this stuff stay at some level a priority too, the elder scrolls is one of my other top favorites like this game its lore is so very critical to my experience, they removed mysticism and some other stuff from their game here and there which went with it its lore and a chunk of what made the world worth falling into for countless hours. Seeing "Kalandra" was a massive flag for me by itself the hype is real for GGG to put that on it. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony#3358 on Aug 14, 2022, 7:10:33 PM

Can't complain about it really.
When you compare what we're getting in this league with what is coming in the new D3 season, it puts things in perspective. |
