Exalted and Divine Orbs

While I am glad to see Divine Orbs becoming more expensive, I think that swapping Exalts and Divines serves little purpose.

In my PoE lifetime (8+ years), I have probably used (actually used on gear and meta-crafting) 10x more Divines than Exalts.

Having both currencies be desirable is a much better approach. All that needed to be done was to remove the 6L/Divine recipe, without changing Metamod costs to be all based on Divines. That was it.

Now we will live in a world where Exalts are 20c and Divines are 150c a week into the league. All those Exalt div cards will now feel terrible. Exalt drops will feel even worse.

Given that Exalts and Divines have the same drop rate, there should not be such a massive disparity in their worth (which has been a plague for a long time). Dropping an Exalt felt amazing... dropping a Divine felt terrible. Reversing the costs doesn't help mitigate the terrible feeling of losing that 50/50 coin flip.

I hope that in a future league, you (GGG) try to balance these 2 amazing currencies so that they both feel great when you are lucky enough to drop one.

really? Only 10x more divines than exalts on crafting?

I played back in the day of exalt slam / eternal crafting and even INCLUDING that, I've probably used 100x or even 1000x more divine orbs than exalts in crafting...

Exalts being worth 20c is being awfully generous...divines held value because they were useful. Exalts are not useful so they will NOT retain even that small amount of value.

I disagree. GGG wanted more ex slams on rares and less divine slams on uniques. They would have archived that by just switching the metamod to divines Without touching the vendor recipe. Then i had more ex to slam and i needed more divines for corecrafting.

But now i have only lost massives amount of currency for almost no gain.

I would love to see some real compensation for the lose of THE source for divine orbs
GGG should switch the the 6L vendor recipe now to award one Exalted orb instead. (Or atleast some Exalted shards)
This would obviously make Tabula Rasa more expenisve in trade which i think is a good thing if you look how stong this item is.
Hoho, try rolling those legion jewels now.

This is a great catch I hadn't thought of. Do we think this means they won't break the maths that people used to decipher them? I expected the formula to change (though maybe they wouldn't tell us)
I believe the harvest craft to re-roll values (like a divine orb) with lucky mod values will remain in the game - this will help with rolling your rare items.

Uniques are kinda screwed though - good luck getting well rolled Ashes of the Stars now.
Probably fearmongering really...

What happens when a divine orb drops today? For by far most players it'll languish on their currency tab, and eventually join its also ignored brothers on Standard in limbo.

After this change, casual players (who've pretty much no use for divine orbs) will start selling them as it'll actually be worth it now.

So, I think they'll be more expensive than now, but the supply in trade will go up a lot.

I also like the change because exalts will now actually be affordable for casual players for their intended purpose. They'll hopefully become relatively cheap, meaning that casual players can use them for that 5 mod item they have that would be really good if it had a decent 6th mod.

tl;dr: A currency useful only for the top players become more expensive, a currency useful for all players become less expensive. Good move :-)

Watching the trade market adjust is going to be interesting though :-p
Lucky re-roll and divines in heist will remain in the game until hotfix 1 released 0.056758 minutes into the league. It will come with a free 8k wallpaper of Chris "The Vision of Hell" Willson. The light reflected off his shiny pearly whites will irradiate all life.

I really do hope that Harvest "Lucky" Divines stay in the game. Divine prices are going to be INSANE enough already. For people wondering why that is, "Harvest Divines" cannot be used on Unique items.

Divining your Watcher's Eyes, Threads of Hope, Ashes, Meldings, Brass Domes, Timeless Jewels, etc is now going to be prohibitively expensive. I don't mind that... except that Exalts will now feel so terrible.

In my 8 years, I have Exalted exactly one item (excluding deterministic Exalts like Paragon on Bows and meta-mods). And as soon as I did, I felt horrible since my good item was now much, much worse for having hit a garbage mod.

Exalts always sucked for their "intended" mechanic. They only had value because of meta-mods. Now we have a lot of Exalt div cards, and no one who cares about them.
