When exactly does POE become fun / better ?
" This game is not new player friendly at all. It takes a long time to get going and that's with research. Going in blind, new players are going to get frustrated so fast... Take my sister for example, she was a new player going in blind. She kept dying in Act 1 & 2 then finally gave up. She was on the move, trying to kite and attack as ranger but still got overwhelmed. I think this is not good for new players as a whole to struggle so hard. She's coming back to give it a go once more, but this time with a build I helped pick out for her and for no other reason. Otherwise she'd not give this game a 2nd glance. |

Most people dont like complex games. Thats why PoE will never be as popular as Diablo, Fortnite or Fifa. Its that simple. If you dont like PoE from the begining you will most likely never like it. There is no way to force that.

It has not been fun for a while. We hang around because we remember how good it used to be, and hope league after league that it would be good again, just to be disappointed by more nerfs, more tediousness.
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. " ~ Hunter S Thompson ~

After acts because that's when the real game begins and when PoE truly shines with its vast endgame and lots of content. Which still feels unnecessarily long to get to. Which shouldn't really be a problem for someone who plays through the story for the first time. There is, however, a problem with Chris Wilson's strange vision to make acts harder which in turn can stop first time players from reaching the better part of the game at all.

This game becomes fun after you buy 140 stash tabs so you do not have to spend 99% of your time by micro-managing stash and you can actually go play the game.
Same for trading, with premium stash you can sell directly from stash tab but without that you gotta install shady thirt party software that asks you for your log-in token or spend 9000years editing the buggy thread code that breaks every 5minutes. If you visit the trade forum you can see which of these options people use by the same templates used there (99.9% use the shady third party software) I did one fully manual trading league, and I'll rather sell my liver now than to go thru the random "this thread can not be saved because item x does not exist" Edit: Guys that reminds me I gotta buy MORE stash tabs, is there stash tab sale expected before the new league? I'd like to buy more premium tabs for trading. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today! " I disagree. If you judge only by the campaign it's your typical mediocre ARPG game. When I first played through story it was absolutely nothing special. I could easily drop it, but wanted to see what's the big deal about it. I'm glad that I didn't, because as soon as I reached the Atlas endgame I was instantly hooked and in love with the game. Instantly dropped some bucks into stash tabs as a sign of gratitude to the devs for their amazing masterpiece even though at that point I didn't even feel the need for stash tabs yet. |

" If I don't enjoy a game in the first 2 hours, it might as well be trash. I surely won't suffer for many more hours until it gets good. |

When GGG realizes Arch-Nemesis was a mistake and fixes how terrible it is.
Sure they've corrected some of the bad like Trickster in Delve, but really? They thought that was a good idea to begin with? Has to give you a lot of pause when thinking about their knowledge and ability to make the game enjoyable going forward. |
