Melee buffs!

All clunk melee skills should be set at ~750% damage effectiveness minimum which is what the actually usable "melee" skills have in reality.

" I sometimes wonder what it would be like if skills had some sort of dynamic nerf/buff of raw numbers algorithm that was automated into the game. The more people use a skill, the the lower the values and the higher the numbers using it then the higher the numbers go. Obviously it would need to be tuned against player level and play time or something. Imagine the uproar when the popular skills lose power, and the shift to the underused skills that soured to stupid values. I know, it's a terrible idea. But maybe fun for an event. It really breaks my gaming heart to see that Chris almost views the state of melee as a "non-issue", while ZiggyD laughing/joking the whole question away. I think it's official, they really don't know the state of melee.

" I think this is the second time I've seen Chris talk about how Melee will feel much better in PoE 2 and maybe he is right. I just hope that they aren't putting all of issues of melee into animations. He did state that he would bring it up but I don't think that means very much. I'd really like to see an actual melee player be on one of these podcasts to actually talk about it because every time I see someone bring it up.. they are laughing or don't really understand what the issues are because they don't play the archetype. If CHRIS is the one to "bring it up" to the team, melee will remain doomed. Are you guys telling me that there doesn't exist ONE person over at GGG that is aware of the fact that melee is seriously underpowered?
The "sad" thing is; I REALLY like 99% of the changes/additions coming in Kalandra. I would be REALLY hyped, if I knew I could experience (and enjoy) everything playing a non-LS melee character without feeling handicapped. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Yeah, like they upgraded all kinds of melee armor gear with adding 1-2 layers of life rolls on top of the existing ones, devaluating all top gear you had. I can see it coming. Sword now cant only have 295% increased physical damage but 480%. This makes all your gear worthless again, what they will sell you as a buff. At the same time they will nerf and make legacy a lot of ranged/caster items cause they were too strong, creating legacy and big wealth for ranged players again and again and over and over like they always did before. Chris Wilson and the people close to him hate melee. Another proof in addition to the 50 existing proofs: There is a thing called RT. When I entered PoE in beta I was sure this was going to become a legitimate way to play PoE without stacking crit rolls. 10 years after we can safely say: Noone at GGG cares about melee play at all and ever has. It would be quite easy to develop RT to an attractive alternative to crit stacking. I could do it in 3 afternoons. GGG can't provide it in 10 years. Every new boss enoucnter is designed in a way to have one attack to hit ranged and melee players and another attack that can only hit melee players performing both at the same time. And so on and so forth. Remember in the beginning, when the whole game evolved around 12K ES builds competing against 4500 life builds. Then they put "cannot be stunned", "CI", and more of the stuff onto the ES builds so all the dangerous mechanics monsters had on players were by default not a thing to ES builds. It ended up the strong melee guy running around being stunned all the time, being locked in blocks. Dying hard from chaos damage poison stuff while the preferred playstyle of Chris Wilson is an invincible glass cannon killing stuff outside the screen, immune to chaos damage, immune to stuns, and what not. If my melee standard gear will be nerfed ever again by useless changes of gear rolls (even if it is PoE2) I will gladly never play PoE again. Got enough as a melee only player since beginning.
