What did POE learn from Lost Ark?

You mean the game where at least half of the in-game players are bots and the other half spams Steam forums daily about how the game is p2w cash-grab with time-gated content where you have to create 10 alts to progress faster than at a snail's speed?

I don't know. Maybe that the Westerners are not really fond of grindy Asian mobile like p2w cashgrabs like Koreans? That would be an excellent lesson for any game dev who's target market is outside Asia.

Just like this forum is full of people whining about PoE.

The thing about the bots is that you don't know how many there are. Might be half, might 5 %, might be 80 % - there really isn't a direct way to tell. And it's not like there aren't bots in all the other games, as visible in PoE sc trading.

But it's safe to assume that bots don't post on reddit or watch youtube videos, so going by that, reddit comments per day:

No data for WoW because it's not on steam, hence steamspy doesn't aggregate the stats.

I know that haters need to keep hating because that's what they do, but LA's western release has been an absolutely massive success by every metric.

No, in PoE forums not every second thread is a whining thread about how bad the game is like it is in LA Steam forums.

And imagine comparing a new toy to a 5, 10 and 20 years old games even though the new toy has already lost at least 3/4 of its peak playerbase and has the numbers that PoE had the last few League launches on Steam alone.

By these metrics it's already struggling and it being fresh is the only factor that is somewhat keeping it afloat, but in 5, 10 and 20 years it won't be so fresh anymore. So what will keep it afloat then? Not that it matters to Amazon because it already made its profits - so business-wise it's surely a success.

I like how "it will be dead in 3 months", which was the prediction of the week for LA, now it's "it will be dead in 20 years" :D

Not dead. But in 3 months or even faster it dropped from over 1 mil. to 250k out of which who knows how many bots there are - since players complain that some servers are absolutely flooded with bots and they can't even find real people for dungeons. So good luck to that game.

Interesting statistics, thank you much for your effort in pulling that together and posting it.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

They just dont want to.

I doubt it - PoE's entire gameplay model centers around temporary progression, which gets wiped every 3 months. That really doesn't combine with P2W

My dude, have you heard about Diablo Immortal?

I have, and last time I checked, it wasn't very popular among the PoE community :)

These are pretty cool stats.

Goes to show that. although smaller in player numbers, POE has a very highly engaged community relative to others which is a massive deal in gaming.
Opinion:

POE vs LA, on a poop relativity scale:

POE - becoming kinda shitty.

LA - a thorough giant heap of shit from Jurassic Park right from the start with no hope of future redemption.
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.
