This is actually not fine. The game is in a dire state when crafting is the superior option. An ARPGS revolves around drops and the best items should only come from drops.



Totally agree with all of this.

I know we're talking about crafting, but we should also talk about the amount of items that drop, and how there's no good way to filter it based on what you're looking for specifically. I'd appreciate it it everything dropped identified, and we could get a loot filter like in Last Epoch. Choose the specific mods you're looking for, and the game filters based on that. Maybe you already can with Neversink, but I don't find it that easy to customize. The UI in Last Epoch is pretty straight forward.

I've noticed more and more that people are in an infinite loop to make their builds faster and faster not because it's fun to play, but because they're stuck in an unconscious addiction to rolling the dice faster and faster. Meanwhile, we have the crafting which, with all these setbacks and insane RNG, keeps the player in a never-ending cycle of frustration and FOMO.

PoE is actually more like a game of chance than a fun-to-play video game.
GGG wants to make us all gamble addicts with their crafting methods:))). After hitting some good recombobinators I want to go and gamble my car to poker.
I'm honestly surprised that people do craft in PoE(other than the unlockable bench crafts you get while playing):
- RNG to get a/the best item base
- RNG to get crafting currencies
- RNG crafting process

I've been playing on and off since the end of beta and I've never bothered with crafting as it's just RNG stacked on top of RNG.
