Like really though.
i work 9 hours a day I spend an hour to 2 hours in traffic a day. I dont want to play a game that feels like work. Even just taking away the xp penalty and maybe making drop rates better. We have so many games even in this genre that are built for players who do not want to / can't invest that much time. PoE is one of the few games left with a proper journey and progression. Just leave it be. |

The game is already "hard mode" in terms of the sheer amount of mechanics and details - new and legacy - a player has to engage with, and amount of grind needed as you progress.
But at the same time it's also far less "tactical" gameplay compared to earlier versions, where you had to study Piety's boss phases, keep distance from whippers and Voidbearers, or decide which one of Dominus' minions to Heavy Strike down first. Now if you're not clearing a screen full of enemies by the end of Act 1, or insta-phasing and one-shotting the final bosses of old - some Elitist will make sure to tell you how you're playing the game wrong, and should probably quit. " not even the sweatiest of tryhards want hard mode. chris's idea of hard mode isnt hard mode, its more like poverty mode. nobody wants to play a game where fuses are as rare as a divine orb.. the whole concept strips poe of the most appealing part of this game, aka the deep and complex itemization and customization. |

If Chris' idea is indeed to hand the keys over to RNG completely, and make a "hobo" mode where you run around auto-attacking because you can't even socket or link your gems - I can't say I'm surprised.
