Using a build I extremly dislike as a "league starter" to get to what build I actually want to play?

plenty of builds u can make with 15 exalted orbies and farm what u farm now and actually enjoy it
3.26 when?
Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe.
Not sure how players can be struggling with currency this league, unless they're absolutely brand new. Sentinel is absolutely ridiculous. Most profitable league for me, by far.

If someone, anyone, says "it's not so hard I have two dogs and three kids and look, somehow I got this mageblood and 2 mirrors" he's full of shit. He either played 72 hours straight at league start, flipped the SHIT out of the market, got handouts from guild/ viewers or did the thing with the real money that we don't really like to talk about here.

... or is just straight up a lot better in this game, as skill makes quite the difference in Poe.

hit a nerve didn't I?

You can pick a league satrter that you dont hate.

But the one that you won't hate cause how it plays will likely perform badly and you will end up hating it anyway :D

Never had such problem in 10 years of playing.

Yeah, kind of.

A) playing a lot on leaguestart: granted, but why not? It's a hobby, and 72h straight is a bit over the top, 16h a day is more realistic and I see nothing wrong with that for one weekend.

B) same goes for flipping: not my forté, as I am not really good at it as well as its not fun, but why the hell not? If people enjoy it - let em. It's by far the most effective way to make money and I don't know why u would have to put it in a bad lighting.

C) yeah I kind of get that point - people shouldn't sell the achievements of others as their own. Not the point I'm mad about though - personally, 2man guild, just me and a friend and no donations aside from a few chaos here and there and back and forth.

D) the real money thing. And this is where you struck the nerfe - how the hell dare you. I personally despise any form of advantages through money, and I don't wanna open the whole P2W Duscussion here but other than Stash tabs which are in my opiniom enabling rather than win by default I can say for myself I definitely have never in ANY game purchased things soley for the purpose of surpassing others only via financial means. The fact that u bring that up, even though not directly aimed at me personally, but rather in the general direction of people that share a certain view on the currency-per-time invested, infuriates me to the core.

You devalue all my achievements in game with the notion I might have bought them and this pisses me off. I play the game for fun. What's fun for me doesn't need to be fun for others but I like to challenge myself to get better from league-to-league in making currency, as it's one metric I can track for myself pretty objectively. Not only do you accuse people like me of cheating, because that's what RMT is in the end, no you deliberately trashtalked their and my whole mindset for this game. Shame on you.

Throw a white level 14-16 map into the map device, kill a few mobs until the searing exarch event encounter pops (from 5 -30 seconds) immediately portal out as rapidly as possible unless there is a harvest/expedition/ritual immediately visible, repeat until 14 maps then do the ice/fire boss for minimal drops, then do another 14 maps to get to a total of 28 maps searing exarch encounters, then do the searing exarch, die 95% of the time during the rolling fireball phase, kill him, get a shield/staff to drop, maybe an enchanting orb thingy, then leave and repeat.

And this is where you fucked up already. Listen man, stop with the crap about streamer-RNG - they get the good drops because they play a lot and can afford the losses, and showing stratetic gameplay by selling stuff is not generating views, so they go for the big gambles to have something to show their audience.

I am not a streamer. I am not a full-time gamer, I have a 9-5 (actually 9-6 even) working day. I´ve not taken a single day off of work for this season.

like... It´s not hard to make money and actually, the strategy you´re doing is pretty viable - unless you throw the hard-earned money you make into the garbage disposal.

Bossing in this game is pretty profitable, but you need to be able to compensate for missing-luck-streaks. Let´s assume the droprate of Omni and Ashes is about 2% (which makes sense in accordance to price of the invitations vs. price of the item), that would mean you drop 1 out of 50 runs. But that´s not accounting for
- variance
- juice (yes, running it in 4-man rotations with height of hubris generates LOTS more loot than running it blue or with like 40 quant)
- and yes, a bit of luck

So why aren´t you going for the guaranteed money? And if you get bored of chaining maps, do some other profitable stuff.

- Heist
- Delve
- Legion
- Breach
- Essences
- Deli-Maps
- Simulacrum
- many others

I went into bossing a bit last league and did a few runs this league as well, but when I went for farming maven I did not run 10 and wondered why my luck was, I bought 50 straight up to make up for potential bad streaks. You need to understand that your gameplay-loop is setting you up for failure. You could have had Omni for a long time if you would have been smart about it.

I am actually quite interested in how you do this. The most I make in a month and a half of league play is maybe 80-90ish exalts at best, and that's with lots time spent and many juiced maps run. Would you be able to give a step-by-step explanation on how you've managed to acquire this much currency? Thanks in advance!
PoE is a sandbox ARPG. Play how you want, now how you think you're supposed to play. Games are meant to be played for pleasure not played as a job, unless you're a streamer.
Gwenn just tossed me a mageblood, so lets just pretend that this entire thread was never made shall we? Thanks. Take care exile :)

Glad you didn't give up :)

And next time don't put all your hopes in a lucky drop if you hate your build. Play it safe and build the currency to buy the omnni in market. And THEN yes you can do whatever you want xD
