Wealth mobs

So, those mobs

1. have less common than unique items (In fact, most players who have played PoE for months never met one)
2. Drop loot as a large chest does
3. have been nerfed anyway.

Just remove them from the game while we're at it. They could be 100x more common that it wouldn't remotely change anything economy-wise : /

Either make them TRULY rare and awesome, or make them more common, but do something...

They nerfed them? When / which patch? I saw my first and only one last week.
I'd like to see the patch notes for this change, too. OP, can you show us the source for this finding?

The Wealth mod on magic and rare monsters now causes fewer items to drop but they are of higher rarity. Previously the item explosions from these monsters were too large.


It was a while ago (after I joined), but they still nerfed them. They're mostly useless now. I edited my main post and removed the "recently" (thought it was more recent than that)

Thanks, that means they nerfed them before Open Beta so it didn't really change anything for me.
that patch was months and months ago.

I've already seen at least 3 Wealth mobs since open beta began. and while the loot was better than normal, it would be cool to have an increased chance to drop (at least) one unique from these guys.

Exactly what I'm saying, and the fact that it's an old patch doesn't change anything: they're worthless now, and the few that know how shit their drops are, aren't looking "forward" to killing them. They're just useless, and false advertised as being awesome IMO.

What I'm saying is: their drops are comparable to a large chest, but 40 times as rare as a freakin unique... seriously? c'mon

Although that's nice, the maths don't add up. Chances to find a wealth mob are immensely smaller than those of finding a unique, yet... when you finally find a wealth mob, what do you get? a bunch of rares, maybe a chaos in currency. I'd rather have 40 uniques, because it's much closer to the odds of finding a wealth mob vs a unique.

Basically, they feel underwhelming, while they shouldn't because of their rarity.

It's the same with Vaal Unique map why on earth can't they at least guarentee one unique as well as give more orbs such as fusions and regrets. I had one of those and got literally NOTHING from that map. It could have at least left me a Redbeak.
